Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Can anyone verify that these are NOT drop spindles?

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

I'd say not...see how the shaft is closer to the bottom ball joint. if they were dropped the shaft would be up more in the middle of the spindle.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Ok cool. See the thing is I want to get a little lower and the best way to do that (without a dropmember or a Z) and get the most drop is with a 3" spindle. And I was just hoping that it didn't have them so I wasn't stuck being so high.

Does a 3" spindle mean I'm going to get a full 3" lower?

Ya, whatever the drop you want to do is how much it will lower it.

Max,
do you have 1" or 1 1/4" front rotors?

these are for the 1 1/4" rotors, and is what I have on my crew....nice price also

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

maxxy...here is a pic, you can see just under the outer tie rod end to the ball joint is where I had to grind the lip off on both sides of the controll arm. The wheels really only rubbed when making sharp turns.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Its fiberglass. I'd rather have a steel but i'll take what i can get. lol

See here's the story, my dad, a wholesale car dealer, and he does a little bit of public sales, sold this squarebody suburban to an older woman who needed a car, and she was saying she didnt really care for the hood because it was kind of obstructive to her vision, so i told her i could fix that problem, by trading my stock hood for hers, and while i was at it i asked what would it take to trade for her phantom grille, and she told me i could trade out anything on her burb as long as it still ran and looked ok.

So I ended up with a cowl hood,
a phantom grille (which needs painted or something),
and an entire interior real billet kit (including dash bezel, dash trim, billet pedals, and front and rear door trim)

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Ok I got a little done today. I had to modify my upper wishbone (hopefully last mod with rear susp) I realized my bag mounts wouldn't fit without being super close so I redid wishbone and narrowed it. I am glad I redid it because on a rod end I found out it wasn't perfectly square, which would've caused problems later.

But here's what it is now, and hopefully what it will stay like.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Thanks man. I have probably around $150 bucks into it. I got
a 24ft stick of 2x2x1/4 in okc for 50ish.
Rod ends and bushings from QAR (*****************) for 40ish
And link mounts for 60ish.

Yeah I know Stephanie. We're both juniors.

Re: maxxy's 81 bagged c10 build

Haha yes . I'd know u if I saw you I bet..and yea when i got mine it had one leaf spring on each side in the back and the front was higher so I cut the springs and the ride was horrible. I'd slam it but I don't have 2000 to do it so I went with the 5/5 kit.. I just don't think it is low enough..and yea I have that bed at my parents
