Nice work on the frame, and the overall look with cab and box is nice. Jim

Thanks for everyones encouragement!
Things are moving right along... Spent the day getting a game plan on how we are to frame up the inside of the bed. Uploading pics in a few. Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Thanks!
I dedicated this past weekend to just dig into it. You have to find a couple hours a day while the inspiration is there. To mate the rear clip to final boxing was prolly 16 hours worth of work. I have another 8-10 hours into the bed so far. Thanks for looking... Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Hey guys...
Just a couple pics of us framing up the box. I have a fuel cell in mind and ordered. The framing is getting there, I won't be able to quite finish it up until all my parts are here for mock up. enjoy. Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Spent a few hours today finishing the basic frame inside the bed. Time to get the bed mounts in place and start replacing sheet metal.
If the rain ever ends I can get over to the sand blaster and get it all cleaned up. Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
I been contemplating using a coyote gear aluminum gas tank to put in the bed.
Like this one attached. I think it will look good in front of the rear tires inside the bed. opinions? thanks, Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Thanks!
Hopefully it will be in sooner than later and I can see how it looks inside the bed. realized we had to replace the front bed panel. Had a local sheet metal shop bend me up a few pieces. we got started on it and mocked it up. the floor panel is not attached in anyway as of yet. chipping away little by little, going to have to bite the bullet and order the 3 inch wider fiber glass fenders for the rear. 300 a pc. ouch! but it will be worth it in the long run. thanks for looking. Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Here is a pick of the new altman latches installed. It is incredible that the doors latch with a touch of a finger... "click"
the rest of the pics are the last to be taken and fitted until blast day! Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
This morning is a very exciting day indeed!!!
the chassis and cab are to be blasted. By days end, the chassis should be in paint and the cab in primer to finish the body work. I can see now I am not getting much sleep tonight! Wish me luck! chassis stripped and ready to go for a ride... Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Thanks Kim!
It was a good and not so good experience... I won't get too in depth, BUT.... I told the blast guy to be very careful with the cab. Got it back and the rockers were caved in enough that my doors were rubbing, the new cab corners were dented in and the worst ever... the middle of the roof had a huge buckle in it. We spent many hours yesterday getting the cab back the way it was before blast. On a more better note.... BRING ON THE PICTURES!!!!!! enjoy and happy memorial weekend everyone!!! Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Yes,
If anybody noticed, I now have 5 x 4.5 lug pattern all the way around. I could not find a place that would sell me a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern that fit 92 chevy spindles. So being a machinist, I took my rotors in and rotated the bolt pattern and presto! matching bolt pattern all around. Only down fall I can see is in the future if I need new rotors I will have to re machine them. ok, enough babble for now... Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
Tell me all...
What is recommended for coating headers that will last ?!? On a second note... Those who stated that these cabs are less than desirable for form and fit, couldn't of been more right. I cannot believe what I have to do to get these lines somewhat in the ball park. This looks terrible and I have around 8-10 hours playing with this door seam. Patience is something I am learning for sure. Thanks for looking! Brian

The frame is looking good Brian.
The doors are a pain but well worth the work when they are done. Just be patient and you'll get there. Kim |
