Re: New member with barn find
John, you have to be happy that you changed out that 73 bed for the correct one now, cause it looks amazing....alot of hard work went into that old truck. Good job

Re: New member with barn find
That is going to look sweet with the white top and the white 16.5's with the caps. Can hardly wait to see it.

Re: New member with barn find
Thanks guys. I'll get some better pics when it's in the driveway, the paint booth was kind of small. I just got done spraying tint able raptor bed liner on most of the top, I'm trying to get it done before the blazer comes home so I can get it out of the garage but I ran out of color. I got the inside and outside top done but still need to finish the sides and hatch. Now how do I get bed liner out of my hair?

Re: New member with barn find
I been working on installing trim on the blazer and got the top sprayed with tintable raptor bed liner. I came out nice, even had enough to do the inside. the texture is very similar to the factory, a little lumpy but close enough for me. I did end up spraying it with color to even it out.

Re: New member with barn find
Heres some pics of the progress I've made so far. It's very time consuming cleaning every nut and bolt. I'm glad I took lots of pics before taking it apart.

Re: New member with barn find
John it's looking amazing! I missed the update that you got it back from paint… our baby boy came 6 weeks early and I disappeared for a couple of weeks. It really looks awesome. Did you have the engine rebuilt yet? What's next?

Re: New member with barn find
I am glad you are taking your time on every nut and bolt, really worth it in the end, makes it a step above. Good work man, keep at it.

Re: New member with barn find
Thanks guys, Congrats on the new addition Dusty, How's the wife doing?
I'm still not sure on the engine yet, it only has about 45k on it and it's very clean inside but I havn't pulled the oil pan yet to see the bottom end, if it looks good I may add some vortec heads, intake and a cam from summit. I already spoke to the tec guy. |

Re: New member with barn find
She's doing well. Things are settling back down and we're getting into a groove. I'm just dying to get the Blazer done. We're down to a little bit of wiring, exhaust and some other details up front then we're ready to roll. Just haven't had much time to work on it plus it's cold working outside under the tent. Got a heater and that helps but it's still tough.
