Well it wasn't the sending unit or the wire. I put in a new sending unit and there was no change. I ended up putting a manual gauge in it. She runs about a steady 190...
I then had some troubles keeping her running. Started starving for fuel... After chasing the problem (blew out fuel lines, added fuel filters, replaced the fuel pump)for awhile I found that the floats in the carb were getting stuck shut. They were hitting the sides of the carb. She's back in action...

I was out 'monkey-ing' with the truck yesterday when the "big brown truck" pulled up... Delivered me some mo' parts. Anti rattle window felts and a turn signal switch. I got everything installed right away. Success...
No more window rattles... Signals work great....

Me and my buddy Dan (DAN66) ditched work yesterday to work on my '67. It was a beautiful day! We installed the rear drop springs.
I also swapped out the caps with some bowtie moons that I had in the garage... and added beauty rings. Thanks for the help DAN!! You are the MAN!

Cleaned up, sanded and primed the new grille... used a little steel wool (000) on the stainless trim... shined up pretty nice.

Well I had a little issue with the truck this past week. While driving I started to smell this funky stink. At first I thought the transmission sprung a leak and it was gear oil hitting the exhaust. It wasn't the case... the voltage regulator got stuck and the battery overcharged and cooked. I was smelling the acid boiling! Got home and one side of the battery blew out a short time later. Luckily, they warrantied the battery. I replaced the regulator and when I fired it up, my voltage meter was still reading like 16-17 volts. I dug a little deeper and noticed that a couple of wires coming from the regulator got hot and melted together. After repairing those, all was good. She's back in action...
Morale of the story: If you smell sh!t, check your battery...  JC62

Scored these from fellow member 'heehawracing'. Got them in the mail yesterday. Did the usual 'clean/sand/prime' routine. They are ready to bolt on. Did some parts-trading with my bro-in-law Mario and got a back bumper. I still have to go pick it up from his place... that'll be next.

Sure we can get together. I'm gonna try and stay a little sober this year LOL. Might take the Oldsmobile this year, but I still have a fuel problem to take care of. If not the truck again.
