Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

Just a little update. I had most of the mock up of brake, fuel, and air lines installed on the frame. I felt pretty comfortable I had gone as far as I could and we stripped it down. I thought a day of grinding and then paint........WRONG. I bet we have put 50 hours on that dang frame and still not done. Lots of lessons were learned!

You have a sick truck in the making and an even sicker garage, very nice.

looking good man. Its always easier in your head than it is to do the work....always but pay off is when done and you can enjoy all your hard work and hours spent. Wish you the best of luck with the build as you have a very solid start. im subscribed

Thanks guys, Bob is definitely the lead man when it comes to bodywork and paint. His wife even came over on Saturday to help sand.

Here is an outside picture of the garage.

Ha ha dude your funny. We lived in the garage for a few years. We designed it and I built it. Almost at times have second thoughts as it is so much work to take care of.:wash: The house matches the garage.

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

I just read the entire thread over on garage journal. If you guys have the free time you should check it out. toocrazy's build thread is amazing. It's everything any heterosexual male loves. The garage build, theater room, music room, the house, 66 burban, 64 Chevelle, the Willy, etc, etc, etc. I'm at work and I just spent about 1.5 reading the whole thing. I'm glad my manager is out today. Lol.

I can't remember now but it was like 20,000 feet. They are almost 3 inches thick because we were concerned about heavy trucks.

Hey thanks man for giving me the plug I have had a little over 150,000 people check out the garage build thread. It truly has amazed me that so many people would look at it.

It is nice to work in but too much room for stuff and I find myself cleaning the darn thing 3 times a week. It gets in the way of progress.

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean

Well finally we have some paint on the frame The chassis is still sitting in our paint booth (a tent from Sams) so these are the best pictures I could get for now. I can't wait to start bolting on the suspension and getting a rolling chassis. We are in the middle of building a "build room" in the garage so I guess it will be next week until we can move the frame back in the garage.

Finally, no bolts. That is the way it should look. That is so much better looking then the bolt on kit. I can only imagine the amount of time it took to smooth all the welds.

Let me get it too you. It is a "shop line" of ppg which means it is not real expensive. The sheen on the paint is determined by the hardener. I will post it tomorrow.

Really like the color on the frame. Very clean and subtle... almost looks like it has a bit of a texture also. Very nice!
