Re: '69 c20 rescue kind ..... of.
monday was a good/bad day here.
i was able to get in to a shop of a real good friend that i was out of touch with. so i chose to do the tank. when we work to exhaustion, we make mistakes and rush. there are some corrections and finishing to do, but the tank is in and filler neck connected. still have to get an alum fuel door. make a bracket for the top of the neck and a cover for the bed side of the neck. also still need to connect the filler end of the vent. then i can connect the tank to pump and see if it was all done right.

Well I just got the truck back from alignment. I think it drives great. But if the other licensed driver doesn't think so, it's going to have to go.

Re: '69 c20 rescue kind ..... of.
im missing the trick to put the vid HERE.
so we get a link instead of me putting the rear drum bakes on with regular old tools. nothing special. also replaced two u joints. eaton ho 52 with 8 lug drums. http://youtu.be/raGxEDB-lPc new master blew a rear wheel cyl. after 800 miles. so truck got new brake shoes and wheel cylinders, a spring kit and new bearing seals.

Re: '69 c20 rescue kind ..... of.
truck has been running great.
no real issues to report from the previous work posted here. solved an issue that had me stuck regarding the starting issue. p.o. cheaped out on the battery. there was one shot to get the truck started, if it didnt, it was a ten min wait, or jump start. battery was too small for v8 starter. $80 fixed it. I have a new 1406 sitting on the self, nothing wrong with the 1406 on the truck but this new one is shiny. also have intake manifold water leak so ill replace the gaskets, clean up manifold, and install new carb. also ordered a new aluminum radiator ($180 from monster radiator in oregon FREE ship too!). the one in the truck has a few small leaks on the tank sides and im afraid when i seal the manifold it will make enough new pressure to pop the rad the rest of the way. its pretty mild weather here and the temp on the gauge never gets higher than 190' but im mostly concerned with the pressure increase from fixing the other leak. also looking to replace the power steering pump this round. pics to follow, when work begins. i just wanted to touch base now that i am back in improvement mode.

Re: '69 c20 rescue kind ..... of.
had a weeping radiator and a leaking manifold at the rear (water).
couldnt fix one without making the other worse so..... also changed the p.s. pump and pully and lines. cleaned up manifold in the process. small bonus was i found a mallory billet dist hiding back there! if everything runs nice this week we will pop the new carb on this weekend. NOTE: PICS ARE IN REVERSE ORDER. I DONT WANT YOU ALL THINKING I MADE IT WORSE!
