Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Its hard to see unless you look straight down from the battery and yes its bad....Its right below the core support and goes back from it about maybe 2 - 4 inches... not quiet to the angle support that attaches to the frame. Here are some pics.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
hmmm we will have to check it out from the look of it i dont think we need the full since its all the way back.. We will have to inspect to see if there is more damage under the car...Plus to decide if we jsut need the inner part too Ill go do some frame tapping tomorrow to see whats up and take my measuring tape with me too
This looks about right

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
All right so measure the rot on the frame rail and its about 10". So back to CJ Pony Parts and $35 for a 29" section on inner/outter frame rail.. Even has great reviews for being strong steel.....
Then I replaced my temp sending unit and oil pressure sender...Well no luck...The Oil Pressure guage moves but just a little, the temp never moves but rus said it started too at one time during the trip but wasnt consistent. Ammeter gauge doesnt seem to work either as it just sits in the middle so basically my gas and speedo gauge work... So I also bought an the some new voltage regulators: Scott Drake Constant Voltage Regulator Improved Design Voltage Regulator Autolite Black So my electrical system should get a little boost even if it doesnt fix the gauges Also figured out what rims ill get when i get to it. Need new tires so it will be sooner then later on these And they look better as real ones

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Well trying to win an auction on ebay for some gauges....With the current issues with the temp and oil pressure it seems like a good idea to have some extra gauges just in case they are bad. Im trying to win an auction for a full cluster but its special. Its the aluminum one which i dont really care about but it has a Auto meter Speedo and Small Tach in it. Currently sitting at $40 with 2 days to go... So with luck ill win it and get a few lil upgrades i want in the process
Here it is http://www.ebay.com/itm/380600862787...84.m1423.l2649 No stealing fellas lol

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Well yesterday was interesting.... Went to Harbor freight and bought a few tools i always need. Socket set, regular wrenches, rotary tool set, cut off discs, and some sand paper.
I decided I would do some small stuff on the stang even though my knee has been irritated since going back to work but I couldn't stay still. I installed some crappy stock speakers out of my cobalt in the rear to replace the completely blown out Kenwood speakers. Nothing special but i wired them up correctly unlike the Kenwood speakers and even though one is kinda blown i have music! So I decided to take her for a drive. Started to push the clutch down and POP! The clutch goes to the floor and doesn't come back up. ERG WTF! I though i just screwed something up or broke something major. After doing a little goggling and not finding anything I decided to look under the dash. A small coddle pin broke and the pedal was just separated from the push rod. So initially I put it back in and bent it but i was a little worried about it. Luckily the guy up the road i met off the mustang forums said he though he had one and to come grab it. Cool guy!!! He actually is a member of this site but hasnt been on in years! Does some great work too!!!! He is actually putting up his 69 Chevy for sale. Its pretty nice too!!! This morning I got back to it! I pull out the dash pad(Which came out in pieces), removed the cluster, and just checked some other stuff out. There are some cut wires and some wires that just need to be covered. I was happy to see that the dash wasnt rusted out under the dash pad. I was kind of worried since the windshield leaks a bit and the other 67 I checked out in ATL was rusted out like crazy.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
You're making some really good progress!on my speedo cluster I installed a Tach where the clock or blank spot used to be. Really looks nice and works great. I believe I got it from MustangSteve, but I'm not sure. The white facing I bought off of ebay. I have orange lights when I turn the headlights on. Sorry about the pic, but you can make out the tach!

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
THanks! Well, it's chrome with black facing then pretty much what you see with the Ford Mustang lettering. I don't know if this answered your question about what color the horn button is?

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
Well retro gauges is no longer in business but i found the tachs elsewhere. But if i get the cluster im bidding on it has an Autometer Tach and Speedo in it so i wouldnt need that anyway. Just looking over my cluster and for some reason the guy re-wired the left blinker on the cluster to have its own connection. The bulb is broke so not sure it works but o well. Ill test that out later.
Ill look up some wiring...like i said i need to check the fuses anyway

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
IIRC, my left blinker was the same way. It was wired out of nowhere so it seemed, or it came from a white 2 wired plug~ one wire went to the blinker and the other (I don't remember) and IMPORTANT you have to be sure to ground the speedocluster running a ground from the housing of the speedo to a good chassis ground.

IF you don't already have one, You may want to purchase a 12 volt test light, comes in handy

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
are you going to pull the under the dash wiring harness out? IF so, I sent mine to a guy from the STangfix.com site. He went through mine and fixed all the shorts and tested it out for about 150 bucks. Also are you going with stock aC or aftermarket AC? or no AC?

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
The left blinker was alone in it's own little plug and did a split, the other wire going "somewhere else".. Nothing to do with the mini tach. I would run a separate ground, knowing that it is definitely grounded. The one little wire in the harness for ground is tiny. I had trouble with it making a good connection in that harness plug.
In essence, the left blinker is not in the main wiring harness going to the dash instrumentation. It's a lonely little wire

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)
This is something I wish I could make, it's from a service manual. It's a piece of steel that the tech would place as shown. I could use it as for some reason my upper ball joint boots tore~ I have no idea why! This would be placed in before lifting the car. Just throwing stuff at you~ oh, that is not my suspension~
