It was easy.

R&L called my yesterday morning to "set up" a time for delivery. I said I can't be home and wait. They said, no problem, we'll call you 30 minutes before delivery. I said cool, what's the approximate time? They said 12-3.

Sweet.

Delivery guy calls me at 3:45 and says he's 10 minutes out... I said that's fine but you'll have to wait another 10 for me to get there

He was a cool guy, said he owns a couple 3rd gen Camaros. One has an LS1 w/6spd manual swapped in.

Came on a day cab with 30' trailer. Fit around my 'hood pretty easy.

Weren't you going to drop over a grand on a used crate engine? This is your better option.


44 sold at this price so far. If it's true they were only going to let 60 go for this price, it's almost over.

I have quite a few parts I can put on mine Leon, I just don't have the friggin' time right now. If it wasn't for the price, I would have not bought the motor at this time.

Yeah I was, it was turn key. Thanks to everyone here, I backed off. I need to get my better half on board first, this deal is a lot more time sensitive haha. I am hoping we can figure out finances before the 60 are gone.

PS...how did you hear they were only doing 60 at this price?? Did I miss that info on the thread?

Don't ever go "over your head" for a toy. Ever. I have all the crap I have because I waited and kept things simple, like driving the same daily driver for 9 years that's been paid off the past 6.

If it helps at all I would 'suggest' thinking about all of the skinned knuckles Gramps put in on that old motor. There's likely some blood, sweat, and tears on that old motor from him.

Also, anyone can send a CC off for new parts, but these old trucks have soul and just replacing everything strips some of that from them. JMO !!!

Just bought mine. I've been looking at them for a while, and even though I won't be ready to install it for a while I couldn't resist at that price. Thanks for the post. BTW, I applied for the 'bill me later' credit line and get 6 months to pay with no interest. Could be the difference for those of you like me that can't shell out the $1200 right before Christmas.

...and ummm... don't bother taking the crate apart... 4 bolts hold it to the bottom of the pallet... just sayin... not that I tried to take it apart, THEN noticed the bolts...

The first one I took it all about to find out the bolt trick. I had some of water seal and coated one of the cradles so next time I more a motor around in not just in a old tire in the back of my truck.

Yeah, the cradle looks nice, I have a Pontiac 350 that needs to be stored and I think I'm going to put casters on the bottom of it and use that to roll it around, if it will fit.

As of right now it is going in the '71 Mini Dump Truck. (pics below) That is subject to change at any time though. It originally had a big block in it so we'll see...

That is currently the only toy that doesn't have an engine...

Dude... you're cracking me up. Just buy it. That warranty issue about loosing a few months or 6 or what ever is a moot point. Chances are near 99.999% or better that you will not need that warranty. If it starts up and make it 100 miles with out problems it will make it 100,000 with out a problem. These Target Master engines are rock solid replacements. I had several and never regretted it and will not ether. You can't rebuild one for that and every single moving part is brand spanking new. You just can't go wrong for the money.

Now whip out your wallet and pony up.

Got mine today ,the tractor trailer could not make it to my house ,long narrow driveway so I talked him into taking it to my work .It was supposed to be on a small truck but somehow wound up on a 40 ' trailer .

Mine was the same way. I told them a tractor trailer would be a little hairy, so they said, OK, we'll send a box truck... tractor trailer showed up. He made it, but he scraped his bumper thing that hangs off the trailer down on a hill.
