Thanks, much.
Very fun to ride along with you folks. By the way, the windshield is indeed an easy fix. Just call the Windshield Man. Best way.

Looks like a great trip. I told Jen the other night once the truck is done we are doing something very similar.

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
Great to hear you made it home safe and sound and hopefully happy. I think you've inspired all of us here a bit more to get out there and have some substantial fun and adventure with these fantastic contraptions!!!
Ok....how many miles was the trip all in? (1000?+ or?). One thing we don't want to know....is how much fuel was used....LOL. I think we know thats not the strongest point of these things!!....but what they cost extra in fuel they offset in yearly value appreciation!!....and no Honda, Audi, Mercedes or?....can make that claim!! All Good & Great trip! Coley

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
That's a good trip when the worst thing that happens is a chip in the windshield.

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
That chip should fix right up, just make sure to take it to a quality glass shop for repair. Keep in mind, it will still be visible, just not as bad. Btw, love the truck, love the trip, but who is the goofy lookin guy with your wife?? Lol jk thanks for sharing.

Great thread, I'll have to show this to the wife for motivation, we've been wanting to ride 66 when we get the 67 done.

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
It will certainly be documented, but it will be a while down the road. The truck is far from drivable right now and we have a infant daughter.

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
Being one of the first to encourage you to take the trip (previous thred) I am glad it was a success for you. Your updates and insights were well done! I was able to visualize your journey at your different destinations as I remembered making the same trip (but continued further north) 5 years ago in my truck. I was particularly glad to see you stopped by at Hackberry General store and shared a picture of your truck there. Thanks for the memories!

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
Super sweet looking truck and great thread! Glad your trip went well. Enjoyed all the great pics and stories. I'm glad you made a memorable trip out getting the truck home, and lots of priceless memories I'm sure. The wife and made a 4200 mile trip to the Florida Keys in February in our truck and it was probably the best trip/vacation we've ever had. It's great when someone gives you the thumbs up going down the road or when your at the filling station and someone asks if you really drove a 45 year old truck 2000 miles from home, it definitely gives you a sense of pride in your truck. We are planning a trip to the southwest next fall, I'll have to check out some of the same stops. Have fun with your new joy! Dave

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
Glad to see you made it home okay and your brakes lasted. Saved a little money by doing it yourself too. It was nice meeting you, hope to see you on the site with your upgrades.

Re: Cross Country...or Bust? 'THE' trip!
I'm glad all went well and that the truck proved it's self as dependable. The windshield doesn't count as that could happen to any thing. I enjoyed the trip, thanks for sharing but now that you're home more pics of the truck please... Thanks again....
