The holidays are over, it's time to get my butt back in the shop and get to work. We got the Transmission finished up yesterday. I probably should have went with a 4L80 but I had a 4L60 core given to me. I spent some $$ to beef it up. 5 pinion planetary, higher capacity 3-4 drum with better clutches, Kevlar bands, hardened sun shell, 300m input and a Transgo HD shift kit. It should hold up just fine at my power level even though I tend to beat on my stuff pretty hard. I also got a precision 3200 converter. The transgo recalibration kit eliminates the pulse width modulation.
This was an early 4l60 and I'm working out the little details as far as flywheel spacing to the converter. I had to change the bellhousing and I ended up with with a 4l80 flat flexplate with a spacer. I had to open up the converter mounting holes on the flexplate a little as well. There are so many variations of the 4L60 it will make your head spin. If I had hindsight, I would have just bought a new gearstar level 4 and been done with it. My son cleaned everything up tonight and painted it. Things should start moving at a faster pace soon. Once we get the engine/trans in and verify pinion angles, I will order my driveshaft. I plan to finish plumbing the fuel system and trans cooler and building the exhaust next. Then it's time to start swapping the body over to this chassis.

It turns out the precision converter I had was wrong. The mounting pads and the pilot snout were for a non LS 4L60. I called and talked to Brian at Circle D and he got me set up with the right converter that would be used with my stock flexplate without the need for a spacer.
The engine/trans are back in the chassis for good. I set it up for 5* down angle and mounted the trans crossmember. I'm going to have a local shop build the driveshaft this week. Small progress but I'm moving in the right direction.

I started plumbing my fuel system this week. I built everything out using standard braided line to get my measurements. Then I ordered all of my lines from Brown&Miller Racing. These are by far the best lines in the business in my opinion. They are a high temp fiber braided line, PTFE lined to resist any fuel or additive, crimped on fittings and are rated to 200psi.
I mocked up my filter/regulator in several positions but I wanted to have it in the most accessible location for future maintenance. By mounting here I will be able to change it out fairly easy and it will keep my feed and return lines short. My stainless line clamps didn't show up today so unfortunately this is as far as I got and I wasn't able to run the main line from the filter to the fuel rail.

Slowly but surely I'm getting to the finish line on this chassis. This weekend I got my driveline angles sorted out. I need 3* shims to correct my pinion angle and I'm done there other then finish welding the bag mounts and painting the rear end. Should have the shims by Wednesday.I got the new driveshaft painted today and started building the exhaust.
I had a set of ultra flows, a bunch of J bends and some 45's on the shelf so I'm going to try to get the exhaust finished on the cheap....because I'm cheap I also bought a U weld h-pipe kit. I have from the h-pipe to the mufflers mocked up and tacked together. I wasn't able to finish the head pipes today because the exhaust runs right into the transmission crossmember. I tried flipping the crossmember over and I was able to gain some room but it's still right in the way. I'm going to modify the crossmember or just build a new one to make my life easy. I plan to flange the system before and after the trailing arm crossmember in case I ever need to remove it without having to cut the mufflers off. I'm moving slowly but I am very motivated even if my results don't show it
