Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks, I can't tell you how excited I am
I have a pretty large carb spacer that I have to remove and I also have a air cleaner spacer that allows the Edelbrock air cleaner to fit on the Holley carb. I think that is around 1", going to change it to a 1/2". Hopefully that gives me enough room, if not I'll just have to change the air cleaner.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
I feel you Mike but my issue is the paint and body, I don't have the funds to have a shop do it and I have never painted anything in my life except with spray bombs. Part of me wants to just leave it in primer and drive it until the funds allow for a full on paint job. Even my dad today was like let's just primer the cab black and drive it

Yeah I agree it's better to drive it then to be parked, wish I would have realized that 4 years ago when I started it. I would have just rolled around in the patina and rust holes

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Got the doors mounted up today, had to add an extra shim under the core support because it was drooping a little in the front. Also lowered my air cleaner down some by removing the carb spacer. Next weekend I plan on installing my Porterbuilt hood hinges and putting the hood on.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks Nate, I love seeing it look like a truck again.
Nope, still at my brothers. After I get the hood on and the hinge plates welded then I will be ready to move it and start the tedious bodywork phase won't be done by spring, I still have a lot of parts left to get and a lot of work to do. We will see, would love to be driving it this summer.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Got the hood semi on today took most of the day to install my Porterbuilt hood hinges, I then set the hood on and then decided that before I get ahead of myself and weld the hinge plates to the bottom of the hood, I have to make sure all my panels are gapped correctly. Next weekend I'm going to try to get my gaps spot on and then weld the hinge plates on.
