Ordered a Edelbrock Carburetor Rebuild Kit yesterday for my Edelbrock Carburetor.
Once we get the carburetor rebuilt I will take a video of the exhaust sound of the HOME MADE EXHAUST!

On the 66 I have, whenever I turned the key on the gas gauge would shoot up to the F mark real fast. I thought maybe just a short somewhere. Well I decieded to stick a hose in the tank to see how much gas was in the truck and after I pulled the hose out about 6" there was fuel on it. Then I shined my flashlight down the fill tube and I could see the gas. OH bonus... A full tank of gas. Gas gauge problem solved.... I just uploaded this to youtube. It is the first engine running of the truck since I have had it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Spent some time getting the frame stripped clean of years of grime and oil leaks. Used engine brite, super clean, wire brush, putty knife and finished it with a wire brush wheel on my 4 1/2" grinder. I'm going to wipe it down with acetone and prime and paint it today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Thanks to Bob at Accessoryland, a pair of new old stock inside spotlight brackets (8205 & 8206RH) arrived today. In addition to the mint condition brackets, even the 1960 era slot head mounting screws were included. After decades in wax paper bags, the brackets are now permanent features in my cab.

Man, I remember doing that with mine. It was hot as hell outside but that was one job that makes you feel good once you're done. What are you painting it with?

Old custom classic trucks have soul. Their dashboards aren't plastic, and they've survived both the best and worst of what the 20th century had to offer. For the owners of these trucks, it's often the same story. Through both good and bad times they persevered, until one day they could turn the key and roll up in a customized truck everyone with good taste would admire.Custom Classic Trucks

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

your gonna blow that motor Gage.

Well it was sad what I did to my truck today. I pulled all of my SD front crossmember and my disc brake set up off, so I could sell it. Packed up the air ride kit too. It's all going to a good home though.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Started the rebuild and drop process on my 65 frontend today. I removed everything except the tie rods and center link, ran out of time. Now comes the clean up and rebuild part. I'm trying to decide what kind of control arm bushings to use, stock, urethane, poly or polygraphite.....
