progress pics of 79 pro street
Here are some pics of the progress i've made on my 79 blazer. I started the teardown about 2 months ago to update the blazer a little. My plans are to install an air ride suspention, new paint etc. So far I have started smoothing the fire wall and tailgate. I have also installed the front end kit for the suspention. I have a long way to go, but here are a few pics.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
It's going back with the same running gear. It's a 402 bb chevy with a turbo 400 trans. The rear is a ford 9 inch with 4:11 gears. I have never been to the track, but its fast enough for me. My plans are to build a Hot Rod looking show truck.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
Awesome progress, its looking good. What color you going to paint it? Are the the tires and rims on it the ones you are planning on running? Defiantly should be a blast with the BB!

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
I am going to paint it a yellow called Lemon Ice by ppg. It may go two tone with yellow on top and either white or silver on the bottom. I haven't really decided yet . The wheels will stay the same for now. I will post a couple of pics before I tore it all apart. So you can see what style they are. I hope to one day go with a larger diameter wheel like a 18 or a 20. They just get real pricey when you get them in a larger width.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
I like the color you have on it now. Did you tub it?
I would like to do that to mine and put some big 20's with 345-50-20 tires. That would be so cool!!! I better stop talking about this before I start thinking more about doing this to my truck. It's only $$$$$ right!!! cool ride.....

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
yes it is tubbed. It has 15 x 14 inch welds with 33 inch x 19.5 Mickeys on it now. My plans in the future are to go with a 20. I was told they are making them wider now. I think it would look awesome with some 20x14's on the back, I have also seen on this board a company that is making a tire that is 29x18.5x20 how cool would that be!!!! but like you said it's only money.
Look at a post by Layedoutnoma. It shows the 29x18.5x20's on a 67 -72 pickup. N2TRUX directed me to it a while back. Be careful though if you see them you'll want a set. The thread is http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=211015 Last edited by Chevyrod; 01-29-2007 at 06:52 PM. |

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
Here are a couple of progress pic from this weekend. I got the air ride working. It took a lot longer than I thought it would. I hooked everything up temp. just to make sure it was all going to work. I'll run everything nice and neat after paint.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street
you should have you front indipendent that way you dont end up with extra body roll while doing quick turns. the 8 valve setup is the best in my opinion.
