Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Started working on it again anytime I get some free time. I managed to get the willwood pedal assembly mounted, the Tanks Inc. tank mounted. Got the painless fuse panel mounted and started laying that mess out. After wiring and plumbing it will be running after I install the 11" clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing. My goal is to have it out of the shop under its own power in about a month just in time to die in it from the Texas heat with no AC.

"die in it from Texas heat" ...it Only Feels like its 120* ,can't be more than 114*

making good progress there Wheelie, I also need to get my front sheet metal off the back deck and hung ,not to please a wife, but to try to please the nagging city code enforcement .

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Thx Y'all sorry for the blurry pic, still working on it a bit each day. Having one of the guys in the shop help as well. Engine bay wiring is about done. Im trying to get it fired up so fuel plumbing is next. I went ahead and decided to just use -6 AN hose and fittings. Hopefully have it running in the next week!

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Any updates? And can I ask for a profile picture directly inline with the front wheel bearings? One more question, did you use the Camaro rear diff lower plate for the shocks or the one from the truck?

Really like how this truck is coming together.

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Thanks y'all!
Cameo, not sure what you mean as far as pics you request for the wheel bearing profile? The front wheels/brakes etc. are all assembled and the truck is rolling. Maybe explain to me more and Ill see what I can do?
As far as the rear end It is a 8.8 from a Ford and I removed all the brackets from it and welded on new spring perches. I used the factory truck lower shock mount bracket and drilled out the holes to fit the larger diameter Ubolts and just took out the old shock stud and put in a threaded shock mount stud. Worked out great.

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

I finally got it wired and running along with a million other things to get her road ready. Looks like I will be doing the maiden voyage tomorrow after I move some cars around. Im so glad to be nearing the end on this thing. She runs very strong and with only a few more things I want to do its about ready for cruising around.
Ill post pics when photobucket starts working again. Theres a video of it running on the cut and paste link below. I couldn't figure out how to make it where you click it.

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

May lower the front a bit more but Im letting it settle. Still need to do interior but she runs and all I lack now is fabbing my pedal support, alignment and first test drive.
