Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
I made some progress this weekend but it does not feel like much. I hope this holiday weekend will be way more productive.
I figured out my rear shock mount plan. I bought the upper mounts plates from No Limit Eng. The lower mount on the trailing arm is home made. I got the rack kit mounted but ran into a lot of problems with Step 13, the bearing mounting. I will get it next weekend.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Food, family, friends and drinks! What’s not to like? I got a little work done on the frame. Its coming around, but not fast enough. I got my air ride system in!!
I finished all the mods for the rack kit. It took some work but we got it in with all the changes going on up there. Im hoping to have the motor in and the complete front suspension for test fit next weekend. In the rear we added some boxing and tubing for support. I think the Tubing looks armature but im learning and buying more tools. Note need a pipe bender Later

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
I might have missed something in some of the previous posts, but why are you moving the X-member forward 1"? Is it because of the wheels being centered in the wheel well?

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
So a small thing I noticed, before you weld the bung for the trailing arms solid, I would suggest drilling some holes through the side of your tubing near the ends so you can plug weld it as well, safety on suspension is pretty important! I know this is something I have always done when making 4-bar kits, and have yet to run into a problem. But all things considered, its lookin awesome, keep up the kick @ss work!!!

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Whats up guys? I hope yall had a good weekend. I got some work done on the truck with the help of my dad. We assembled the front end, installed new motor mounts and installed the motor to check the fit. When i installed the new motor mounts we lowered the motor 1" and pushed it back 2". It feels good to see some parts going back on the frame!!! The rack kit from no-limit is installed and looks good.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
You might want to check,... But I'm sure the CPP upper a-arms are on the wrong sides.
(the straight tube goes in the front) The upper balljoint should be closer to the front of the truck. Here's a picture from a Classic trucks Tech article. http://www.classictrucks.com/tech/10...s/viewall.html They also install the balljoint on the bottom side for some reason.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side
Haha- nice! The ball joints used to not fit correctly on the CPP arms- you have them installed the safer way...
