Re: Dealer step bumpers

This "RUFFNECK by Smash-Hit" bumper manufactured by "The Perry Company" is on my 1966 C10.

I found the truck near Itasca, Tx which is a little south of the Dallas/Ft-Worth area.

"The Perry Company" is in Waco, Tx and is still in business but now makes accessories for heavy equipment, tractors, and UTV's. In the 50's and 60's they were making aftermarket and dealer installed bumpers and grill guards.

I hadn't come across this thread before but glad I did. I just bought my 63 and it came from Amarillo. It has from the looks of the picture the same back bumper as the Blue truck. I was planning on changing the bumper because the step/wrap around bumpers don't do it for the look I want. But, are they more rare and valuable then the regular bumpers either painted or chrome? Maybe I should change my mind and keep it.

Re: Dealer step bumpers

Here’s mine. My Grandad had a GMC dealership from 1962-65 and I found this bumper from it in storage 20 years ago. It was made for a step side but I made it fit a fleetside. Built by D&D Bumper Works, Seguin, TX.
