Re: 1953 Burb build
Looks really good. The gaps look nice and tight. I like how the running boards tie into the front fenders. Are they aftermarket or did you make them?
Good luck with paint. Marc

Tons of hours in just these three pieces. Same boards I have on my truck so I kept the pattern. 1/16 gap that will pull together when bolted |

Black and red...wood floor tinted grey, grey seats red carpet
Hardest part is the headliner. Got the rear on e in and molded with a little heat. Next is the front. Middle should be easy. Once up plan on gluing the material in place. ABS is forgiving but all the contours are a ***** |

Re: 1953 Burb build
Looking good. Where did you get your ABS panels? I've never worked with the stuff. I did all of the interior in my 48. I really enjoyed the process.
Good luck over Christmas getting some work in.. Marc

Re: 1953 Burb build
Got them from Rod doors. Same as what Zi have in my truck.
The guy who bought roddoors I have been told does it part time and deals through classic chevy and chevy of the 40's. I am not sure if that is the case I have had mine for a while just sitting around |

Re: 1953 Burb build
Well my buddy got his new paint booth up and running after moving to the new shop.
1st car is done. Mine rolls in next. We played with the door gaps while waiting. Cut and re-welded the inside where the hinges go and also cut the pillar and pushed the top of the door in. Gaps are perfect now. Final primer and wet sand Mon. Maybe Thur paint but with the numerous layers and colors it will take about 8-10 days before the clear and buff. |
