My wife mentioned that "it looks like the same color". To which I added, no way, my original color was way more yellow.

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
I've seen a similar color combo before and I like it. I like two tones with a white on top of the cab. Gives them a classic look.

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
I totally agree. I did a 1 ton dually i finished & sold last March. I did it in a similar color combo but the tan was much lighter. I like this darker ram a while lot more.

I totally love the darker tan against the white. It may even be darker than the buckskin color from 1978?

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
Been slowly moving forward with the fenders & doors. Got them in final prime. Got the cab in first coat of 2k high build.

I did get some progress made though. Finished block sanding the cab, doors, and front fenders so I could marry em all back up and start dialing in my hood. one I had was junk and couldn't find a decent one so I bought this aftermarket hood off craigs yesterday. took it out of the trailer this morning and within 3 hours had it hung, centered, stripped off the primer coating, and levelled across the fender to hood. was then able to do a little more filler work away from that leading edge and bury it all in epoxy primer. gaps look great.

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
Nice work. What are using to set the gaps?

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
I use the yard sale signs you get at the local hardware store. They are the perfect size for tight gaps and plastic filler will not stick to it. First use anyways. Must have some kind of a releasing agent on it from when they make the stuff. I force a little into the gap on each side of the board and leave it a little high on each side too. After about 10 minutes just pull straight up and it comes right out. These edges will never be in contact with anything so they should never chip out.

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
Thanks. I just think of it as a chess match and try to keep advancing the pieces a little each weekend.
Final color (already purchased) will be PPG#2829 Buckskin" with a white insert and roof. I am copying "leisure suit" in color selection. I love the combo. Here is his rendering of the truck he is currently building. Hope he doesn't mind me sharing, but ,

Thanks Flashed. Me too. Trying to decide if I am gonna paint the trim on or buy poke holes. Probably paint.

Re: 78 downlow-littledough
Finally got the inside of the cab ready so I shot it in color today. Really like the color. Gonna pop against that white outside.
