Not a lot to show today, but my back says it was a lot of work. Got the cowl wet sanded with 2000 paper today, took about 6 times, but looks good.

You can see how dull looking it is when shot straight on, but when it has a little angle you can see how it shines already with just the 2000 paper.

Hope to do around the windshield tomorrow...Jim

Was able to get back in the shop today. With Mark's help, we wet sanded with 3000 and 5000 today. Then Mark did his 3 step cut and buff. It came out super. I am really pleased with how it matched.

Pic 3 & 4 Tried to get close up of old and new paint were it had been taped. It is really hard to see the difference. Old paint is 15 yrs old, a little polish, and it should blend in perfect. I'm so glad it matched...Jim

jim...how did you mask the window gasket to ensure no paint got on it and the window frame doesn't have a tape line?

Roger, I don't have a window gasket, it is glued in place, and new "T" shaped seal will be installed. If you go back to Page 60 it shows what I'm talking about.

Jim, I think if anything your truck will look better than before! That is something I didn't think was Possible. Mark has done a fantastic job painting and your " Sanding" is over the Top

Before I begin this message, I assure you that I haven't been stiffing to many paint fumes.

To the married guys (and even if not married), you know how every so often, the wife says, I think we need to paint the kitchen, or dinning room or living room. Or the drapes are old and need to be changed.

Well us guys sort of do the same thing, but it's, new wheels, different exhaust, etc. So what I'm leading up to is, I've been wanting to change the gauges in my truck for several years, because of the newer tech stuff, you know GPS speedo, better looking and more accurate. So while I had my interior out I changed them. So now I will give an update on that...Jim

1st pic is of the old Classic Instrument gauges, they worked great, but were outdated.

2nd pic is getting them out of dash.

3rd pic is the new Speedhut gauges. Mark has installed about 5 sets of these in different projects, and the owners were very pleased. I also installed a set in my friend Ed's oldsmobile.

4th pic is the new gauges in place.

Now this wasn't a remove old gauge and install new to the existing wires, no they had to come out and new system from Speedhut installed. Mark was very helpful helping with all the new stuff (thanks son).
