Josh, I am new to the site and love it, Members have already helpe me avoid some costly mistakes. I have no problem with a $25 donation to help keep the board running and access classified posting. In reading others posts I have seen referals to a paypal payment, but havn't seen a link or who to send to... In case I missed it can you refresh me. Thanks

Josh: Snail Mail is on the way with cash. You are correct in administrating some discipline. Grant it I 'm new to this group and learning. Did not read anything prior to signing up other than how to sign up. So I will say this . anyone using this site should see how so very lucky they are to have a Question answer session plus decent good willed people there to answer help questions. As for myself am Very Greatful for your efforts here. Thanks Larry

Re: Rant/current events.
If you guys want a business model go checkout www.Corvetteforum.com. It's a huge forum run by Troy ( last name unknown )
I agree that donations are good, if you expect people to pay before buying they will just go elsewhere. I do think you need to keep reminding them though tp donate, we users are slow. Personally I like the site and am considering becoming a paid subscriber, soon. Gotta get a feel for it first. Keith |

Re: Rant/current events.
427(Keith).... You dont have to pay to buy. You must become a subscriber to sale or post wanted items posts. Think of the for sale forums as a classified in a newspaper. Lots of info here. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Re: Rant/current events.
Oh not what I ment Sorry.
I meant Pay before being able to be on the board for a while. I didn't even think about the for sale section... You never know how well, or not well, people behave on a board untill you spend some time with it. I like this board so far, reasonably active, reasonably responsive. Good info. Keith |

Re: Rant/current events.
This is a great site Josh, only one like it I can go to and get any parts or information from everyone out there. Most of the members are very knowledgeable and I learn something new most every time I come on board.
To bad we have people that cannot stand tall and and know not what honor and respect are. I know of your hardships with your mothers cancer for I too am a survivor of sorts as I am in my fifth year of terminal Prostate Cancer and was only given 3-5 years to live. Times ae tough. All you members reading this Get a PSA test done and can the tough guy stuff, if they find it soon enough you can get it fixed no big deal anymore. Wish your mother well and if you need to talk call any time josh. The rest of you people out there get real your petty bickering is just nothing, youall know what is right or wrong and you can read a little or you would not be at this site. Keep up the good work Josh

Re: Rant/current events.
So, I'm a member of a local 4x4 forum and I recommeneded another member to post his "for sale" items on this board because he is half way across the country and isn't getting many bites for his 67-72 stuff. here is his repsonse
(don't shoot the messenger) <quote> that is a bad recommendation, i highly do not recommend being part of josh's forum nowadays, he and liz have gone power mad there and have banned alot of great people it was a great place in 99 2000 2001 but nowadays its full of children and squabbles and arguments and so forth, i was a member from early 2000 to sometime in late 2003 or so the 67-73 CST era trucks are the best they ever built and look the best and are great, we go to Piston's forum now that he made for GM trucks, it is a new forum, small one, one with no immature individuals running around and causing troubles <end quote> I'm not going to defend this site, It is A HUGE RESOURCE of info and worth every penny. Not sure but it sounds like this guy doesn't play well with others....

Re: Rant/current events.
That was a harsh response from your friend. I didn't know there were too many other 67-72 GM truck boards, at least none that can compare to this board.

Re: Rant/current events.
Sounds like your friend may have been one of the children here, got banned and goes to that site now. Very little truck content over there. We are not talking about myoldtruck.com. Piston is in no way connected to that site.

Re: Rant/current events.
If Josh or Liz bans someone from the board I am sure most likely they would not have done it for no good reason. As long as you try to stick to the rules and try to get along with other members and make this a nice place to help and get help other board members I am sure you would have no problems. I am sure they are doing the best they can. We all make mistakes at times. Even me. Yes, your friend did go too far. I do not think Josh and Liz has a power issue. MO

Re: Rant/current events.
I agree, I figured anyone is that quick to slam another forum must have some issues.
BTW, he's not my friend, just another member of the other forum. As you can see from my posts I'm fairly new. I haven't seen any issues like he mentions. This board has saved me so much time & money it's not even funny. So Josh, even if you are "power mad", keep up the good work!!!.

Re: Rant/current events.
I agree with OrangePumpkin. I know I have saved over $25 in the time I have been a member. I just pass those savings on to Josh and I will continue to do so. Just pay the $25 and get your name in bold. You WILL get your money's worth.
