Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

Notice that there are some real heavy Mediums and then there are some pretty light Heavy trucks out there? They made C-70's (C-90 style cab) with a GVW probably as low as 25,000 and some C-60's (Medium style cab like above) with a GVW close to 50,000.

Yeah,I love that about the medium & heavy duty trucks. There were so many options to tailor a truck to your needs.

Tough, reliable trucks too. Simple to work on and fun to drive to boot.

How about a twin stick Detroit? I hope to get a chance to own one before it's over. Here's a heavy Medium Duty w/aux tranny.

Tim, Nice heavy Medium. I like the factory buckets to allow for the 2 trannys.

Mayo, Yes the GMC 9500 is from MD. It is owned by an online friend of mine.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

By the way, I learned a little more about the "Lime Green" GMC with the Snow Plow posted earlier. It doesn't have Detroit Diesel, but a 3208 Cat. Also has a trans that is pretty much a disappointment. It has an Allison Auto. It's also for sale for a pretty reasonable price, but if I were to buy it, I would be changing it to a Detroit with a Road Ranger. A 5 X 4 trans would do fine also.

Gotta have a Detroit in a Jimmy. Bill, you must know that guy from The Stovebolt Page, maybe? I've never run into him,but seen his truck at some ATHS shows. He lives not far from me in Dayton,MD. That truck is a true gem. You have to try to make it up to the Tri-State (ATHS) show outside of Winchester the end of September. That goes for anyone else near enough.

That's clean. I wonder what motor and if it's a 2spd rear. It would be cool with a little dump body.

Tim, Right that is John, the owner of the Stovebolt site. I haven't made it to Winchester yet, but I have seen pictures. It is about 3 1/2 hours from me but I hope to get there someday. Are you an online member on those sites too?

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

That '70 6500 is a nice truck. It's got the Wide Fenders and heavy Front Axel. I believe I can see a Red Button attached to the shifter, which would indicate a 2-Speed Rear. With that short WB, it could be an old Road Tractor. I'd be guessing on the engine, but it could be a 401 V-6.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

I'm surprised the motor isn't mentioned. I am registered on The Stovebolt Page but rarely get there. I don't think I have ever posted there. I seem to be stuck here . I'm a member of the ATHS.

Here's one of Lane's old GMC 9500s,#6,running up the mountain on Rt 211 west of Sperryville,VA up to Skyline Drive...871/13spd:

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

I took that ride a few times last year. In my '92 K3500 and on my Harley. I'd sure love a ride like that one. Just imaging hauling a camper on or behind one traveling the country...dream on.

Nice tilt bed for sale in the Dakotas:

Nice trucks. That 4wd is cool. Here's the tank truck on duty at the Line Mt.7-Miler off road race we go to in Sept. It's very nice:

The Orange Tanker has Air Brakes.

The Tan truck with the Orange Van Body has a set of wheels that I've never seen before. Also notice the Hood. It looks like the whole thing lifts off.

Yeah, looks like some odd kind of axles under it. My first thought was wondering if it was Mexican or other foreign built truck. Maybe even a swapped body?
