No, we're still shooting solvent. We've looked at water a few times, but the additional investment in airflow is a downer right now. With the low VOC solvent that should be coming out soon, we wouldn't have to switch to water to see the benefits, and wouldn't have to add the fans and all required with water, either. Word is everyone is working on lower VOC solvent, but no one has it nailed down yet.

I haven't. There was a bumper company that would do the bumpers for me (I had them done on my '79, and Scot had these done by them a few years ago), but they got bought out a few months back, and chroming has ceased.

Their warranty is only as good as your rep. I had PPG fail on a truck hood and fenders. The rep used every excuse he could find to deny, so it was taken to the regional rep. After going up the ladder several steps, the end result was a denied claim.

True. Unfortunately (for us, I guess) a lot of times we will just handle it. Bad word of mouth seems to travel a lot faster and farther than the good.

I missed your post on the interior Jon. That turned out really nice. I think you mentioned doing it in black at one time. The charcoal looks great with all colors involved inside and out.

Well, I took off of work Friday, and trailered my truck down to Vintage Air. I stopped in Austin and picked up my budy Scott (Zimmstoy) for the ride down. We had a pretty good time, and saw some cool stuff.
We were able to take a quick shop tour at Vintage Air while we were there, and it is nothing short of amazing. The units are mstly hand built, onsite. We got there at lunch, so production was stopped, but the attention to detail and product knowledge was amazing. I am honored to have them use my truck to help update their kit. It is sure to be awesome, especially for the price they sell for. We stopped and ate wings on the way to pick up another car. We picked up a 1989 20th anniversary Trans Am that is pretty rough, but the price was right. We loaded that up, and headed north. A blown trailer tire mangled the left trailer fender in San Angelo. I was going to go back for it, but traffic had other ideas. We changed the tire in a hurry and split. Coming up on the south side of Austin, we got to see a semi truck that looked like it exploded, causing a huge backup. The reason this is significant is that when we were on the service road, we saw a dude holding up a sign that rear "I won't lie. I need the $$$ for beer, chicken wings, women, and 420". I wish I had taken a picture, but needless to say, he got our leftover chicken wings. Friday night, a few of us got together for pizza and to hang out. We pulled the bed off of out '78 parts truck, and I headed home early Saturday morning. There is just never enough time to hang out, it seems. Another bright spot is that I comandeered Mama's car for the trip. Heated and cooled seats, THX sound, and a sunroof all make towing that much better. I cleaned out the garage this afternoon, and Bella and I already miss having the little truck around. I can't wait to get it back. There is a clothespin that has a flower hand painted on it that was on the visor when I got the truck. Scot said it was there when he got it, and the previous owner had some papers and a picture of his little girl on it. Scot did the same thing. I left the clip there, but didn't get around to adding a picture in it until it was on the way south. Maybe I should have done it earlier, and there wouldn't have been such a fight to get the engine swap done?

Eh, those just aren't my bag. It is a beautiful truck, but I just never have cared for that body style. I like the ones before and after a lot better. There are pics of it on the Vintage Air site, though.

Nope, nothing new. It looks like it will be the end of this month or early next month.
On a side note, I did pick up a set of '74 plates for it, and some new park lamps (to replace the one I cracked). I'm ready to have it back.

True. It may be better, keeps me from spending money on it. I have a whole bunch of parts accumulating behind my desk for my Mustang. The more I drive it, the more things I find I want to fix.
