Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I have a verbal update. Pictures should come in the next day or two. They finished welding the bottom of the tub and they have started cleaning up the underneath. They disassembled the frame and sand blasted it and now it has been painted. I think they are going to paint the bottom of the tub this week or next and then it is going to start going back together. YAY!.
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of it. |

That frame is so slick, its almost a shame to cover it up, very nice!

The sad part (not really) is that I'm going to be driving this thing a lot.

This is the first car that I've ever had that has a shiny frame.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I got my bill yesterday for the recent work and it appears that my 9" rear end has been ordered. I'm going with a 3.50 gear. The rear end will have rear disc brakes too.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
Alright guys. I'm floundering a little on the wheels that I want. I was 100% sure that I wanted the steel truck rallys until yesterday when I saw a set of Coys C5 rims. NOW, I'm in turmoil again. I've photoshopped a truck to make it have Hugger Orange paint and it has Coys on it.
Which do you guys think looks better, the silver or the black? |

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
to each their own, but I really prefer the silver. They pop out more whereas the black ones sort of get lost in the wheel wells IMO.
Really love the progress so far, btw. great ride.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I own the black...but only because I got a good deal on them. I'd go silver if buying new.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I agree that the silver makes the truck stand out and looks good with the chrome bumper/grille... If you were blacking out some other parts it might be a different story...

lol. I didn't know if there was something specific that you didn't like about the black.

I was leaning toward black initially but, I have swung back towards the silver after reading the comments.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I just ordered a set of 18x8" front and 18x9.5" rear Coy's C5 rims. I went with the silver.

Re: I think I've decided on a build "theme"
I don't have a definitive ETA but, I think it will be around 6 to 8 months. At least I hope so anyway.
