Thank you very much. The emblems are the hood or trunk emblem from a 57 Chevy 150 or 210. The Belair ones were usually gold. You can get them from Danchuk or any 567 restoration parts dealer.

If I keep my current schedule, I should be able to enter the Spokane Good Guys. Would be fantastic to meet you and see this truck, so much of your work inspired me to at least try some things with mine.

Had truck and the car outside the garage together, and thought it would make a good picture. I've had both for a long time.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66

I had a bit of a catastrophe coming home from Good Guys in Spokane. There was a big hole cut all the way across the road near Bonner's Ferry that was about 4 or 5 inches deep. I think there was new pavement to go in there, but the paving crew hadn't been there yet. There were no warning signs until you were right there. Hit it at about 30 mph with the brakes on, and there was a very loud bang from underneath that made me really cringe. Upon getting home I found the pass side A arm had a big dent in it. Ouch. As you can see from the pictures, I had a piece of tubing welded into the bottom of the A arm for strength. It probably would have been a lot worse, had the tube not been there. I bought a kit from CPP, new A arms, springs, and anti sway bar. The spring is a bit higher than mine, and the A arms give more clearance than the originals. I need more clearance so this doesn't happen again. The kit was fairly straight forward to install. I think I have gained about 1 1/2 inches more underneath, so hopefully it doesn't hit anything again.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66

Thanks fellas. What's next? My winter project is to build a 57 Chevy couch. I found a car that had been hit hard in the side and the whole rear section of the car behind the door has been cut off. Made a deal and now waiting for it to arrive from out of province. I need something to mess with out in the garage for the winter, I'm not one to sit in the house and watch tv. Winters are long and cold up here so a warm shop is the only escape.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66

Here are some pics of the 57 couch project. It has the back seat of a 57 in it (cut narrower), 57 2dr ht rear side panels, and the correct upholstery. Lights work with a switch and it is painted 57 tropical turquoise. Very comfortable to sit in, but it was made very clear that it isn't coming in the house. Belongs in the garage anyway.

Re: Canadian Rustbucket 66

Hey fellas, been a while since my last post. I did something small to my trucks tail light lenses, painted the inside of the embossed bowtie. I am kind of liking it, and it is really easy to do.
