Curious to know where you ordered your stock exhaust parts from. Thanks.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
the frame looks awesome. nice work on the roof and i bet the insulation will be well worth all the effort. getting close to color which is a huge motivator.

Wow, sad when I look at the last dated post. I am going to get started again and see how long my back can hold out , hopefully until I am done.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
Did your build come with A/C from the factory? I noticed the hole cut in the firewall just above the square heater box hole (like attached) where my 66' GMC heater box has a special flap for the fresh air to bypass the heater core to go to the A/C unit inside. Mine came with a Frigidaire compressor as well. I may be a little too new to this but this is the first time I have seen another with the same heater box and firewall hole. jon

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
Yeah, mine was factory air, looks like yours may have been dealer installed just because of the way it is cutout but it is correct for factory air.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
That's the right under dash unit but those bezels have been added. Your truck should not have an ashtray, it should be a larger opening for the plastic AC vents.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
Thanks, if I didn't sell my Burb I would have torn it apart and redone it. I just love the look of starting with a fresh powder coated frame and building from there.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
Just read through your build, really looking great! It seems like every build thread includes a cnotch kit now, so it sure is nice to see one that is just nicely restored every once in awhile...
I had one question as I was reading through...It seems that you are using Por-15 on a couple of panels prior to being welded together. Does this affect the weld or burn off or do you grind it clean where you are going to weld?? |

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
Sorry I never answered, took me forever to find my thread. The frame is powder coated and where I painted POR15 I ground it down before welding as it is hard to weld over, for me anyways. I had to make a contraption to get the cab higher.
