Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
We're Back! The Power Tour was an awesome experience. Our C10 ran great and handled extremely well. The last week leading up to the Tour was some pretty trying times... the trans wouldn't shift out of first, a leaking axle seal, and a few minor electrical gremlins. But all was sorted out just in time and had some amazing experiences on the trip. I'll be posting pics up over the next week or so. Just to let you in on a few highlights, we were on display at the Holley Performance booth in Knoxville, parked next to Hot Rod Magazine's Crusher Camaro and across from the Hotchkis E-Max Challenger. We were also invited by Rob and Brandy Phillips to do a write-up and share our experience with the Power Tour for pro-touring.com. Watch for a link to be posted soon!

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Driving from Iowa to Wisconsin Dells, I had this 5th Gen Camaro and Dodge Challenger following me through a winding country road. They came up to me at the show afterwards and asked what I had under my truck to keep it so flat in the curves. It's moments like that when you know you're doing something right. To take a 40+ year old truck and make it keep up with a 2010 Camaro is an amazing thing.

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Mike-
Too bad about the rim, but I would say over all it was a huge success. Can you get the rim fixed or do you need a new one? Just curious. Congratulations on your accomplishment. Marc

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
I contacted the insurance company and they had no issues with replacing it. So looks like I'll have a trophy from the Power Tour!

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Truck came out great, sorry to hear about the rim damage but sounds like you will be getting a replacement easy enough. Congrats on getting it ready and driving the tour.

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Awesome! Glad you made it thru the tour without much issue. Too bad about the rim. Did you complete the tour with the bent rim?
I had a buddy from Tyler go on the tour with his son in their Trailblazer. They said it was a blast.

We hit our first local car show this past Saturday and took a Top 30 award out of about 183 vehicles. The truck cleaned up pretty good after all of those miles. |

Thanks, Marc. I've heard the Schoolcraft show is pretty good. If I get the chance I'll head up that way.

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
THANKS! By-the-way, I finally had some time to get a quote on having the bed locating tabs made up. If I can get enough orders, I can get them at the higher quantity discount, which would help out with a lower retail price. I should have something posted soon.

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Looks like you are enjoying the truck. I feel you on the Indiana roads! I about lost a wheel the other night on them.

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck
Mike, do you have any details on how you ran the rear e-brake cables?
I have the same rear brake setup and was looking at the Wilwood "universal" e-brake cable kit. I see you put the trailing arms on so the clip was on the inside. Any details would help greatly, thx, D'
