Re: 1953 Burb build
Iceburgh that is good deal...paint soon! Your burb was really solid to start and looks really straight now.
If you wouldn't mind, could you show a pic from the side of your accessory drive please? Went back throught your build thread and you set the engine back a bit to have 9 inches clearance between engine and radiator, I think. A side shot would help me with clearancing mine. Thank you! |

Re: 1953 Burb build
I am on the left n the above pic.... damn these things are big and drink a ton of paint.
Been traveling a ton for work so only getting one day a week at the shop. Maybe this week I can get a few nights for assembly and stripe then clear next weekend. Then 7 days on the road. Hope the guys will wet sand while I am gone but I wont count on it. |

Re: 1953 Burb build
Iceburgh- thanks for the info on the Sanderson headers. You're right - they're pretty proud of them - they are pretty spendy for block-huggers. Think I'm going to bite the bullet and try my hand at making a set of long tubes from some stainless mandrel bends. Would still appreciate a foto for my files on how the Sanderson's fit the steering - it is my plan 'B'

Re: 1953 Burb build
Looks great. Nice and straight looking. I dont mind those colors in a matte finish. Going with gloss clear correct?
I like it. Marc

Re: 1953 Burb build
Yep gloss clear...thought about it with matte but decided against it. What is on there now is what HOK calls flow clear it is a in between to give it depth
