Thank you.

Their constant involvement might just make this my favourite build yet.

Cab on and back on the ground. Love the look of the red and yellow side by side.

GM sure had some great colours back then.

Re: Playing the long game!

Changed up the GM power steering box for a 500 series unit from CPP. I did the same upgrade on my Blazer about 7 years ago. Totally forgot that it didn’t accept the factory rag joint spline. In 1967 the columns have a single shaft that runs from bolt to rag joint, Had to swap in a 69-72 column that uses an intermediate shaft.

Went with a solid DD shaft. Didn’t realize that Borgeson makes a collapsible shaft, so looks like ill have to upgrade that soon.

Re: Playing the long game!

Test fit an old fender to see what the fender gap looks like, looks like it’ll need to go down a bit more to sit level. Wont make any adjustments until the body is fully assembled.

Re: Playing the long game!

I'm still here following along! I love the mockup shot. How do you plan to "adjust" the ride height up front if needed? Also love that your kids are still getting out there and helping. Mine do too from time to time. Makes the build more special when you can share it with them. That steering column looks nice as well. When I did my power steering swap I basically bought every coupler ever made and still had trouble picking the right one! This is going to be one of the nicest long beds out there. Now, when are you going to shorten it!? Juuuust kidding.

The front end is currently 2-1/2” spindles, 3” coils and PB control arms. The arms do not have a spring pocket which makes the coil sit high. I plan on just trimming the coil until im happy. Did the same thing when i ran these arms on my Blazer before I bagged it.

Blazer had a 26.75” tire setup up front.
Tom has a 29.30” tire setup up front.
So that will make things a bit different as well.

Re: Playing the long game!

It's coming a long nicely. Very cool that Tom is still involved and up to speed. Don't know if you're using a hazing effect with the pictures you take. But if not, sometimes I have to clean my phone lens.
