Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I'm a 1 ton guy, but that is a really sharp looking S-10. Don't tell anyone I said that though.

Hey do you know what the springs are in that crewcab? Putting a 4 inch in mine soon, trying to get an idea what it will look like. That looks taller than 4 inch.

my uncles s-10 has a 5 inch lift and the total on my dads crew is around eight inch my white crew only sits about an inch or two higher than my dads but thats because im on 35s and hes on 235 85 r16 bfg all terrains however the truck is on stock height dodge 3/4 ton springs. it just looks really lifted because he is on a different frame

here is some more pics of his truck and if you look in the background of the first pic you can see my crew cab

I thought there was something wrong with that picture! It seemed like the front wheels are a hair too far back in the fender well. I kept looking at that and wondering if it was my imagination, or because it was so tall, or what. Then I got comparing it to other pictures and nobody elses sits back like that. Is the front end narrower too? Almost looks like the front tires are in further.

it may look goofy but the wheels are as centered as they can be, the axle is as wide as a chevy as far as i know, and for your tire problem you might want to check with interco tires because every lifted dually that i see always has some kind of swamper on it

The 1st gen. Dodge D60 is 1.5" narrower than the Chevy. It is narrower on the short side of the chunk.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

thanks, I've got 235/85/16 too, biggest I could fit. I want it to sit higher but I dont want it so high it makes the tires look too small.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I think they're too small too, I'd much rather run a 35, but with a dually I'm pretty much limited by the 6 inch wide rims. I have 255/85/16s on my 97 dually, which are about a 33x9. They are a 1/2 inch wider than what is recommended for that rim size, but not a problem. I have seen guys run 12.50s on these rims but that is way too big imo. I could switch the 255s onto my 82, but that would require adding fender flares and I don't want to do that. The 255s are a little wider, plus I have a 1.5 inch spacer between them. So they'd be poking out of the fender more than a little. And I think that would ruin the look I'm going for with the fleetside dually, having the rear wheels tucked under. I have considered going to single rear wheels just to get 35s on it, but like I've always wanted a fleetside dually.

I love lifted trucks and ever since I've gotten into duallies it's been a source of aggravation that I can't find big enough tires. Well, I can't leave this truck sitting stock, it's too low. I already upsized from the weenie 215/85s to 235/85s and it looks better. I've already got a 4 inch lift waiting to go in. I hope it looks good. I don't want it to tower over the little tires.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I ran Interco TrXus MTs in 255/85/16, best tires I ever owned! They were quiet on the highway, looked cool, unstoppable off road and awesome plowing. I was a little leery about going from a 10 ply to an 8 ply, but the sidewalls are so rugged on an Interco it wasn't a problem. Finally wore them down enough where I started looking to repace them. Well, first the price went way way up, so I was only going to replace two at a time, but then when I tried to order them I couldn't find anyone stocking them. Come to find out they discontinued them in that size. That stinks because they were fantastic tires. So I ended up replacing all 6 with Remington Mud Brutes in that size. Cheap price but I'm not real enthused. They are already getting loud, the sidewalls are really soft, and I can feel them squirming around when I tow heavy. I hope they plow good and last a while, but I honestly don't hold out a lot of hope for either.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

well, I cant believe I'd notice 1.5 inches. I think what it is was that first pic taken from the front, the tires look real close together. Must be because the camera was up high, the axle is set back a little, plus the 1.5 inch.

its probably because of those pizza cutter wheels on the front of that thing plus the eagle alloys suck them in an extra inch IMO

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

My crew cab. 454 tbi with rebuilt th400, dana 60 front and 14 bolt posi rear, new american eagle alloy rims with 255 85 16 tires, had a camper for years so the bed looks awesome. Truck is in awesome shape and I got a great deal on it. Freind had it parked behind his house for about 5 years and didn't want it anymore. 2000 dollars later, i drove home my new truck. He lowered it, but still had the lift springs and blocks. I am thinking that they will be going back on soon.Name: my truck 002.jpg

you may want to check that again because if im not mistaken the dana 70 was the only one with that wide of a stance in the rear, as far as i know if it was a corperate 14 bolt it would be sucked clear into the fleetside without the dually fenders. or am i missing something here
