Re: 59 Chevy Build
I spent the day working on "c" notching the frame and narrowing the rear.......I had to narrow the rear 1.5" in order for the wheels to fit to my satisfaction. Later today I will prime the parts and probably paint them tomorrow.......................

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Well I have been busy laying some paint on this project. I was going to have someone paint it for me and quoted me a price of $4000..............I decided to do it myself and save $3000 or so. I wasn't looking for a "show quality" job, just a daily driver presentable one. Anyway here are a couple of pics. I am waiting on the clips to finish putting the trim strips on the cab. They are supposed to be here tomorrow.

Thank you................I went with that color combo because like I mentioned a the beginning of this build, I am building it to tow my other '59 and I needed it to be somewhat color cordinated....hence the red.......thanks again for the compliment..... |

Re: 59 Chevy Build
That will look nice with the stainless trim between the red and black paint.
Cal is right this is one of the fastest builds I've seen in a while. I know the body was very good to start with. Plus ( Cal will aggree with this) your truck did not sit at a body shop that sold out and changed owners with out telling you. Looks great Brian ...

Re: 59 Chevy Build
I'm so jealuous, I could cry. I may never see my truck to this stage. I have had it 8 months or so and I have managed to fix the cab rust and strip it to a cab on the frame. I am making a four wheel drive and have the axles under the truck but that's as far as I've gotten. Your truck is looking great I wish I could get more time on mine and have it looking as good as yours. GREEEEAAAT WORK MAN.

Did you assemble the truck completely, THEN paint it??? Or did you assemble, test fit, dissassemble, then paint, then reassemble???? |
