Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
Re: For those waiting for me to install my Camaro caliper brackets...
Finally got around to it and they're working great! I changed out the proportioning valve to a CPP unit and it feels balanced. I've driven for about 5 days with this setup and so far I'm happy with it. I'll have to re-adjust the parking brake, because it would hold when I first put the truck back on the road, but the cables have settled / stretched to where it doesn't stop the truck from rolling. I had to shim the calipers with 2 washers to center them to the rotors. Also, I removed the heavy weights from the calipers and don't notice any vibration or squeal without them. I'm using a stock disk/drum master cylinder from a 71/72 FWIW. I used all used parts from the 93-97 Camaro: a pair of used calipers, pads, e-brake cable, e-brake cable "brackets", and rubber flex hose. Also, I bolted the (modified) brackets down so I could have a solid connection where the rubber flex hose and hard brake line connect. I may replace the pads here shortly when I get back into it to lock tight the caliper bolts. Curious to hear more feedback from others who have finished this conversion.

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
I finished mine a few months ago. I am using a chrome disc/disc proportioning valve from The Right Stuff. I am having a problem with the e-brake cables not being long enough, though. Anyone else with this problem? I have a GMC with rear leafs.

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
I've got a coil spring setup, but the parking brake cables appeared not to be long enough either. The cables were ok, I just had to add some length to the cable that comes from the brake pedal. I used a octagonal threaded collar from a hardware store and cut the head off a hardened bolt to lengthen the cable about an inch or so. I just shortened it a 1/4 inch tonight and have the parking brake working again... for now.
When I was ordering the prop valve from cpp, I thought I saw a spacer for the brake cable, but I couldn't tell if it would be the right length?

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
OK, after messing around with NAPA for 5 months, I need to find a place that sells the complete caliper with ALL the brackets. It wasn't really the stores fault, it had more to do with their distribution/manufacturing center. Apparently, the new calipers don't come complete and you need to remove pieces off of the old calipers (????). I was told all A-1 Cardone calipears were like this. Soooooo, any help with new ones that are complete would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
Yep, I had to get one from NAPA too, but went thru 4 of them before I found 1 with all the correct hardware. The guys working the counter were just as amazed as I was.

Well, add me to the list, my left caliper was complete, but I'm about to order my 3rd right side, hopefully it will be complete!

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
OK, I will try the threaded collar thing in order to lengthen my e-brake cable. Is that a 1/4-20 thread? How long is the collar?

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
You could always build a new cable with the correct lenght for you. That's what I did, all the parts are available at the hardware store. I'm still looking for a complete right caliper, .

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
Ok...now its safe as I did not want to hijack this thread. I bought a set and I decided to stay with the factory set up. If interested post here first. I want to find the kit and make sure its complete. It's quality parts...I just decided to stay factory.

Re: For those waiting on Camaro caliper brackets....
Different tolerances. Even the factory had shims of different thicknesses. My '92 Camaro Z28 (which uses the same brakes) had factory shims on one side but not the other.
