Props on the Ebay Auction idea. I have been out of town for a few days and guess who I stopped by and talked with?

I'll get my donation in pretty soon.

We could advertise it on Craigslist, here, & some of the other forums. Heck i think that word could get around quickly if we put our minds to it. This way she gets her $ and gets to see the stuff go to those that want it in a weekend.
And while we are there i would like to come up with a way to get her trailer under-pinned. She got ripped off by a local who removed what she had, took a deposit then vanished. Winter is comming & pipes will freeze if that does not get done. She needs help with other things, but that is on the top of her list. Anyway, y'all kick it around........

I am up for making another trip back to her house, and you are right, she does need that trailer underpinned. I believe we might even be able to get some free advertising on the radio stations down there to promote something like that.

I'll get my donation in once I return home and have my high speed back.
I really would like the picture. I love the look of the old beaters. It would also be a great teaching tool for my students. The truck we are working on is almost done. It looked worse then that when we started 5 years ago. I would love to be able to make one of Dawns trucks be my next school project. Just can see how to get that up here to Canada at this time.

Ok...I have a way to help this along...I think. If it's Ok with all involved. If you go to the above thread and read about these magazines (Classic Truck Oct. 03) that I found that I had stored. This magazine is a great read on our trucks with great pics...I will donate "five" of these as gifts through a drawing for those who donate at least $10. Me and my family members are excluded? Sorry 70cstjr. This is the way it will be. After the donation time runs its course I will put all the names (those who made donations) in a bowl and draw 5 names. I will then email these five and once I get their addresses I will send them their "FREE" copy (I will pay shipping cost). If I am braking the rules or doing something that should not be done then I will withdraw this offer. I am just trying to help increase donations. Not trying to hi-jack but just trying to help out. Let me know what you all think. Oh yes...keep the donations going!!

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

I em'd Dawn & she say's the Flea Market idea is fine. How about a 3 week lead time for us to get the word out? Say Sept 19,20,21 with the 19'th being a sort & price day?
I don't expect anyone to make it all 3 days, so pick a day. I can be there Fri & Sat & i will need someone that is more knowledgeable about pricing parts for Fri. If anyone needs a place to camp, i have 90ac & you can camp right on the creek where there is a swimming hole. Heck, i'll even drag the 2-hole-er outhouse over there and set it all up. There is a grill & picnic table & your family is welcome. Of course, Dawn is right there near the Smokies & plenty of campgrounds, but that costs $ for those of us that would rather save our $ for those parts we need.
From my place, Dawn's is just under an hour away. Post your participation here, so i can make a list. I will give this a few days & if enough of y'all are coming, then i let Dawn know it is on.

Great thing you guys are doing. I've purchased my photo under 'ZekesGarage' on ebay. Really want to go up for the flea market. I'm in N GA, so it's not too bad a drive.

Love this board.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

I can tell you guys that Dawn is really overwhelmed by what is taking place here. She can't understand why a bunch of people that she doesn't even know are reaching out to her and trying to help.

I may have not been speaking for all of us when I said this, but I told her that I think alot of these guys would want someone to reach out to their spouse or family if something like this happened. These days this is my only real hobby and her husbands love for these old trucks just really hit home with me.

She was really adamant that we not take up money for her, but I kindly told her that it was probably going to happen anyway. She's a strong independent woman and I think it's hard for her to take help from others, but I told her she needs to look at this as though God were helping her and to just receive the kind things being done for her.

Here's a license plate she had made. It's a picture of her late husband.

Come on guys, we need more people to step up to the plate. Make your own lunch one day this week instead of going to Wendy's and you've helped a fellow Chevy lover in need!
