I'm having a hell of a time finding new calipers that have this e-brake bracket included. I'm having just a hard of time finding a used set to rob them off. John, help us (me) out!

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Here are my issues,

The intermediate truck parking brake cable is short about 3 1/4 inches with the camaro cables. I had to improvise a solution. I dont have detachable connectors for the cables for the trailing arms, that could be the solution. Move them forward to take out the slack.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Yeah, it looks like the cables to the calipers is plenty long enough. So if you were to mike the mounting bracket on the trailing arm forward, the cables should hook up?

So aside from the brackets on the calipers, are some brackets for the trailing arm end of the cable needed?

To make it work like a kit, that would probably do it. I am going to order another set of calipers soon and see if they come complete again.

Good thing is that I didnt have to cut my brake lines at all to make them work.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

So I am getting ready to tackle this conversion. Question I have is what Master cyl and proportion valve is to be used? I have an 85 1/2ton SWB with 10 bolt.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

Well you can use either a mid 70's Corvette master or the '93-'97 Camaro master. The Camaro master will be aluminum with the plastic reservior. As for the proportioning valve, most any OEM disc/disc valve will be a starting point. However you may still need an adjustable valve in the rear line to get your braking dialed in the way you like it. Or you could just go with the Wilwood 260-11179 prop valve to start with.

Would the 93-97 Camaro Master work in my 69 Chevy Suburban?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

That should work just fine. Do you have an original style booster?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

The Camaro master will bolt right up. Just check the length of the pushrod between the booster and the master to be sure it is the correct length.

Does it fit the same brake lines as the factory master too or do you need to replace those?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets

I don't have hands on experience with the Camaro master, but I would imagine it will have metric line fittings. Every other master I have worked with of that vintage, has had metric fittings.

Not unless it has had the GM truck/Impala ends welded on it when it was narrowed
