Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Hopefully that will change soon. I talked with the guys at Vintage Air last week, and the control heads are in. They are finishing the kits for 63-67 Corvettes right now, and will bring the trucks in to finish them. Of course, mine was last in, so it will be last out, but hopefully by the end of May they will be all finished. Just in time to cruise with cold A/C!

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I thought I would go ahead and post an update. I am going to pick up the truck next weekend, and spend a couple of days in San Antonio. Good excuse for a family vacation, even if it is just for a 4 day weekend. I am really getting stoked to see my truck!!!!!

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I'm going to be a wuss and trailer it home. I've put about 4 miles on it since the engine swap. It's a lot shorter walk from work than it is from San Antonio.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
The truck is still awesome. As much as it fought me replacing the engine, I'm not taking any chances. You can bet I will be driving it to work the following Monday, though.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Its kinda funny as Im doing almost the same changes as you. Im in process of doing my engine/trans swap. I am also collecting parts to change my interior to black, plus I have a tach cluster to swap in just like you.
expect alot of questions

I'm ready. You won't know how to act in that truck with air conditioning.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Nice build, this is honestly one of my favorite trucks on here. If you get a chance, could you take some pics of the new a/c system once you get it back? It would be greatly appreciated. That is if you have time to get out from behind the steering wheel.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
I saw the truck yesterday, and it was definitely worth the wait. We are hanging out here in San Antonio for the weekend, so I will post plenty of pics when we get home Sunday. The Vintage Air system moves a lot more air than stock, and should have a 45* vent temp sitting still. It got pretty cold in there just in the few minutes we had it going at the shop. Everyone I dealt with there was great as well. If first impressions are anything, I highly recommend the Gen IV kit.

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Congratulations Jon you have definitely been a patient soldier and I am glad it has paid off. I will be by on Monday to check it out. The twins finished track this past weekend, the boy has 2-3 more basketball tournaments and I will be done and hopefully be able to get back on the project. After July I will be free!!

Re: My '74 build- "Clifford"
Well, no new pics yet. Between trailer tires and a 2 year old, it was a long trip back. We got home to one of the house A/C units out and a 90* house. I have a couple of loose ends to fix up on the truck before I take it to work. I did get the battery replaced tonight (I had to so I could get it off the trailer) and got around the block. Not much update, but the truck is home safe and sound, where it belongs.
