Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Got the rear finished. Man what a PITA!!!! Had to cut and grind about every bolt and made a half dozen trips to the hardware store. But I am happy with the outcome. Did not get the power steering and brakes booster completed this weekend. Maybe I can get those finished up next week. Then off for alignment.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Thanks Guys! Can't wait to drive her again. I know the ride will be so much better. The progress has finally picked up a bit now. My wife is glad because that means less boxes of parts setting in the house. Now if I can just find the funds for the tranny I will be able to complete the interior.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Finally got the P/S working today. This was a complete install with all new parts. I found out the hard way there is a certain way to bleed out the air. I first filled the pump with fluid and started the engine, then began to turn the wheel to bottom left and right about 5 times. Check fluid and repeat again, but this time I guess the air decided to come out at once and sprayed power steering fluid everywhere under the hood. And about this same time someone (me) forgot to tighten the pulley nut, so off the pulley went flying. And of course my wife was just so happen to be there to witness all this and just sat there shaking her head. So off inside I went to watch youtube. The correct way was to turn the wheels first WITHOUT the motor running to purge the air out. Lesson learned the hard way. I hope bleeding the new brake system will go better.

Sorry to hear of the mess But glad you got it up and running! Will make for a much more comfortable ride....especially around parking lots and slow cruises...

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Just a little update. Installed some new roller rockers to the 327. Should be a nice upgrade. Maybe net me a few more horses.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Got a lot I want to accomplish today. Got all the new cab mounts in, what a PITA. Lucky my little helper was around today. Could not have done it by myself. Got the little bit of surface rust removed some pitting but no rust through holes. Sprayed with rust inhibitor then under coating. Once it is dry hopefully sometime today, can you guess whats next? More updates and pics coming later today.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Thinking of going a different direction on my wheels. Something like this but where do I find 5 lug 15x10 and 15x7 steel riims like these? I don't want car rallies and I plan on panting them so chrome is out.
