Here's the only other shot of the seats I have. The waffle pattern in the seats was used in Chevy's sporty cars in the 50's, like the Corvette and Nomad. I've always liked it so I thought I would incorporate that element. The seats are Procar Pro 90's. Procar makes mounts for the seats for all kinds of cars, but of course the Biscayne is not one of them, so I'm having to fab those up. Lots of trial and error there. I love the design of these cars. Aviation was in the infancy of the jet age, gas was cheap, and these babies reflected it.

If you need it, I can sure be persuaded to part with it. Lots of suspension parts too.

Re: 1960 Biscayne
Yes, black. It's a Volvo color called Ember Black. It looks dark brown from certain angles.

Re: 1960 Biscayne
Spent the weekend working on the interior, and still have several days left to go. Got the covers on the back seat, insulation, zip-ties the air ride wiring, seat mounts, carpet.

Re: 1960 Biscayne
This thing is looking awesome! Quick side note.... Are you gonna do any type of covers for the seats to keep the white, white? I'm picturing the clear plastic from the days of old?

Re: 1960 Biscayne
Thanks!
My parents used to have those on one of their cars, and I hated them. But they sure worked good. This isn't going to be a daily driver so I don't think keeping them clean will be an issue. Hope not anyway.

I'm working on it! Pix of the new door hardware from Billet Specialties... And I got the back seat in. Still have to do the headliner yet, install seat belts, then I move on to the brakes, then we'll have the first test drive. That'll give me a few weeks to get any bugs out before Texas Good-Guys. Upon return, I have a certain red pickup to figure out what the heck I'm going to do with.

Mike, you're welcome to come by any time. I know your schedule is pretty full, but it would be great to meet up. I need to pick your brain on some things.

Re: 1960 Biscayne
I was trying to think of the words to describe your interior, but all i could come up with was a few WOW's and some mmmmm's. I think you get the point though.

One thing that has been funny about this when people see it, a lot of people ask me if I intend to paint the car a different color. While that is something I intend to do at some point, I think it looks pretty darn good with the blue too. Brown leather has a way of classing anything up, IMO. I enjoy doing things that are off the beaten path, and it's a big part of the appeal of doing a 60 Biscayne - it's not the top of the line Impala, and it's not the sure thing 55-57. Building a car is a lot like starting with a blank canvass - too me the creating part of the build is more fun than driving them. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1960 Biscayne
I've dedicated Labor Day Weekend to laboring on the Biscayne. It was this weekend a year ago that I made the trek to Wyoming to pick the rascal up. It's been a lot of fun working it over. Nothing like getting a new project and tearing into it, you know?
Today I installed the Billet Specialties pedal covers. I don't know why I thought this would be a 10 minute deal, but it turns out you have to drill holes in the pedals and they bolt on. So, had to drill 3 holes per pedal. Sure is a lot of fun drilling holes laying down on the floor with a clutch pedal that moves. Sheesh. An hour later, I get started on the driver side door panel. No biggie after learning the routine on the passenger side, right? Uh, the clip that holds the armrest screw fell into the backside, had to retrieve and get that set. Finally got started on the headliner, by going over the bows with Scotchbrite then sprayed a coat of clear on them. They shined up pretty nice. I didn't pay attention to the order of the bows when I took the old headliner out. Mistake. Took some time to sort the order out by installing them sans liner, then began in earnest on the install. I've never done a headliner before, mostly because everyone talks about what a ***** it is, but I figured what the heck, I'll give it a shot. The worst that could happen is I destroy a $200 headliner, so what the heck. Five hours later, just taking my time and being patient, I got it in. Tomorrow, the goal is to finish the interior and start installing the big brake kit. Monday I want to finish the brake install, plumb the brake lines and drive this rascal! Posted via Mobile Device
