Re: my "71 C10 project

Ok, I am still alive and kicking. In the home stretch of a couple of bathroom remodels. Meanwhile the LMC boxes are piling up . Drywall and backer board are up and first coat of mud is on (backer board has been taped and joints sealed). Hopefully texturing after second coat this morning. I'll have this done (and a happy wife!) by the end of this week and then back to prepping for paint. Planning to have all my prep work done by Memorial weekend. Taking taking that Friday off to set up and then paint on Saturday. Reassembly to follow. Yeeha!

Re: my "71 C10 project

Second coat on the drywall and it looks good. Final sand with a little 20 minute mud touch ups and I will sling some texture tonight! I even snuck in a little shop time yesterday...mostly just organizing. Had to find the floor.

I purchased the sealant from Rainbow finishes here in Oregun . I have not used it yet but will in the next couple of weeks.

We should finish up painting late today. Rick got some new door hinges for me but I didn't get up there to pick them up yet. Re-assembly should be completed next weekend with a trip to the alignment shop the following week. So close now...this is driving me nuts!

Re: my "71 C10 project

Whew! It only took me two hours at work but I made it to the end! Props to you man, that thing really looks killer!!! I'm the same way in the shop. Everything comes out, it's a damn mess and pretty soon I just have to stop and wind up the cords. It's a vicious circle. I get everything put a way and a clean shop motivates me to drag it all out again

Any other shots of your exhaust cut-outs in the x-member? You said you re-used the cut-out for reinforcement but I couldn't see where you put it?? I'm also anxious to hear what the alignment shop has to say as we've got pretty much the identical setup up front. I'll have to take a closer look at the spring pockets though. I didn't notice any rubby-dubby when I put mine back together.

You're really making me want to paint my truck!!!
