Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
Wow. Very nice job. I am also in the same boat as you. But yet still far behind. I only get to work on my truck a few hours a day sometimes none at all. I have a 67 C20. I cant wait to see your finish product. Great project. Cheers!

We have been working on the engine compartment getting close to starting. Today we prepped and sprayed the cab floor.

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
Nice work! Since it's kind of my thing, can I suggest you get rid of all of that rubber fuel line and install a pre-bent steel line, or bend one up? You only need to have one fail before you get all religious about rubber fuel lines :-)
Here's my build thread of a C2500 Custom Camper, if you're curious. Lots of similarities: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=507395&page=1

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
We even stretched the paint booth by 2 feet. While we had no rain, but then it snowed.

Looks good but I always heard you weren't supposed to sandblast fenders.

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
The parts always look so nice when they have a new paintjob, even when it's primer. Drewbert, I have heard some folks having trouble with warped hoods from sandblasting, but not so much on other parts. The fenders are pretty stout, and especially doing it yourself, where you're not using 300psi to sandblast, I don't think it's a real problem.

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
I sandblasted every piece for this truck and have had no metal warping.
