Nice day today so I decided to blast, prime and paint a few small parts.
I got the core support to fender brackets, core support to radiator brackets, core support to grille bracket, and a couple of other small pieces done.

I also worked on the passenger door and the grille a little bit. Hopefully I will get them painted tomorrow.

Blasted and painted the core support and grille yesterday.

I have to start getting ready for our family 4th of July weekend get together we are having Sunday. That always takes some time to do.

I was going to work on the fenders today but I'm under the weather so I am glad I got these two pieces blasted and painted yesterday. Turned out pretty good for the "Low Budget", "Low Maintenance" project....

Well , I ended up going to the Dr. Wednesday and I tested positive for Covid. No wonder I felt crappy. I had the original shot and 1 booster and so far I am tolerating it pretty well. We had to cancel the family get together for Sunday so that's a bummer....

Today is the first day that I felt like going out and working on the project some. I disassembled the exterior heater box and sand blasted the metal parts and primed and painted them. I used two boxes to make one good one because rubber seal on the diverter door, in the box I wanted to use, was chewed up. It's back together and ready to bolt on. Also blasted, primed, and painted the hood latch and worked on the brake booster/master.

My goal is to get the front clip all finished up and bolted together so I can set it on in one piece. I need to get the booster/master and heater box bolted in first.

I Worked on the passenger side door today. Door skin was rusted pretty bad at the bottom mirror mounting hole. Since I have decided to use a pair of DG4 style mirrors I have, I cut out the bad area and made a patch for it. Welded it in and started finishing it out. I have a little more work to do on it.

I finished cutting out the bad area on the core support and bent up a piece to patch it with. Got that all welded up, primed and painted.

Started raining again. I'm not complaining we need the rain....

Still working on the front clip stuff & doors. Painted the inside and around the outside edges of the doors (forgot to take pictures of them) Pretty much got the fenders ready to paint. I have a little more work to do on the drivers side.

Grille and core support are bolted together. I clean out all of the threads in the bolt holes with a tap before I start bolting anything together. It takes a while to do but it makes assembly a lot easier. I'm planning on bolting the front clip together in the morning if it isn't raining.

My son came down to give me a hand on the Dually today and we got quite a bit done. The front clip is all bolted together and installed on the truck. The shallow crease is gone from the drivers door and both doors are installed and aligned. We work good together.....

Tomorrow I will try to get the top of the hood and the outside of the doors and fenders painted, if the wind isn't blowing too hard. It has been in the mid 90º range all week and next week is supposed to be even hotter. Bummer on that.....

I also need to get the drivers side inner panel installed so I can mount the computer bits and pieces.

EDIT: Added picture of orange bed....

Finished spraying the first coat of paint on everything this morning. I have a few places to touch up on the body work and then I will put another coat on everything. I haven't decided which bed to use on it. This one has some problems but they wouldn't be to bad to fix. I have a pretty nice Hugger Orange bed but it is almost too nice for the "Low Budget" - "Low Maintenance" project....

A 67 with a computer in it, that sounds all wrong...LOL, but can't wait to hear about it starting up and driving!!!

I added a picture of the orange bed in my last post above.

I don't know if the hood will close or not. I was originally going to use the '69 front clip and that hood would have closed by my measurements. I never measured this one. If not I will put a cowl hood on it, or go back to the '69 front clip.

If its just a close fit, you may be able to adjust the hinges upward at the rear....to at least get by.....golly I'd hate the idea of having to swap the front clip

I think it will clear if I use a different intake tube. I will know in a day or two.

Worked inside the shop yesterday. I would rather work outside but by the time I finished up the sandblasting I needed to do, it was a little too warm for working outside. I Blasted the brake booster/master and painted it. I started on the inner panels but gave up on them.

I decided to take the inner panels to a sand blast shop in the area. I had four truck rally/ralley wheels I needed to get done anyway so I just took all that stuff to him. My sandblaster is a little too small for parts that big. Only one of the inner panels had undercoating so I scraped that all off.

Dug out all my wing windows and found 2 pretty nice original ones with Soft-Ray glass. I'm pretty sure I have two tinted windows to match, I will check that today. In the picture I have the one on the left cleaned up and the one on the right still to do. I had the new felt channels on hand so I installed those.

I Picked up the inner panels and rally/ralley wheels from the sand blaster this afternoon. He did a good job on them. Picture is before any primer. Charged me $120 for the 4 - 8 inch rallys and the inside and outside of the 2 inner panels. I didn't think that was too bad. I gave him a $10 tip.

I went ahead and primed the inner panels so they wouldn't start rusting and will work on the repairs tomorrow. I will also Epoxy Prime the wheels tomorrow. I don't really have a use for the wheels at this time but I may want to use them on the '70 Short Bed Fleet Side later.

We are just like a lot of other places in the country right now, hovering right around the 100º mark for the next few days.

I wasn't sure if I would get this done today or not. I did part of it this morning and finished it up tonight. It's really hot. The heat doesn't bother me too much if there is a little breeze blowing.

Patched the drivers side inner panel, spot primed it, and put one coat of paint on it. I will sand it tomorrow and put another coat of paint on it. I also sprayed the epoxy primer on the wheels this evening. They turned out great.... Luckily I have some shade in front of the shop in the evening.

I just keep plugging away on it.

I usually try to get outside after work and my wife calls me crazy! ya, sucks working in 100 plus degree heat in texas, but I don't even notice it if I get some progress done.

Not 100% sure at this time Mark. The '70 Short Fleet is 5 bolt all around so I may use them on it. A friend of mine had to clean out a garage he rented and he was going to pitch them. I offered him $20 for them and he took it. Yeah, I know, "Big Spender"....
