Does this kit move the pedal closer to the firewall? That's be great for tall guys like me...

Re: LFD's gas pedal adapters (71-72 gas pedals in 67-70's)

No it does not but keep in mind it will now be a hanging pedal and not floor mounted like the early ones so you end up with more room I feel but no more then the 71's did. Now depending on the amount of through you need for full throttle you can add slack to the pedal so it is closer to the fire wall. Most guys set their up so the carb opens as soon as the throttle moves from all the way out but it really can move less and still get the same W.O.T if your ratios are set up correct. Sorry if I am not making much sense but I am working on about 5 hrs sleep for the last 3 days. I'm off to bed!

Re: LFD's gas pedal adapters (71-72 gas pedals in 67-70's)

I installed mine this weekend and it was a breeze. Hardest part was making the hole in the firewall square. Go slow and only file as much as needed to get the cable to snap in. Quality part and works great! Thanks!

Not for nothing, but wouldn't a jumper plate make this whole installation much easier? Basically just a strap or large washer with a square hole punched in it and 2 or 3 holes to mount it to the firewall with. That way you could drill a larger round hole in the firewall, mount the jumper plate over it, and snap the square cable clip into the square hole in the jumper plate. Quick, clean and factory looking.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Are the holes already in the firewall on a '68 or do I have to drill them? I'm looking to doing this ln the springtime.I bought your adaptor about a year and a half ago, but a leg injury put me about seven months behind.

Holes are there and it is a simple bolt in deal.

Re: LFD's gas pedal adapters (71-72 gas pedals in 67-70's)

Hey guys I am glad you all have been happy with the results of the conversion. It is a simple product but most would spend more time working out the bugs that what it cost to get a bolt in ready to go bracket set up.
Thanks again and their are about 10 kits left after the other 2 that went out today.
