Re: Project 67
When I was in the Army we had name for light weights who couldn't handle the current tasks presented them I'm not allowed to post here but it starts with the letter "P." Ha ha.
I did get beige on the fenders, cowl, radio delete plate. Despite the uncomfortable weather conditions. Now I need to reshuffle finished items to get close n personal with the bed.

Re: Project 67
Got some things done today thanks to FireDog n Pop's help. First reinstalled the cab on the frame, then installed the windshield, and the rear window. Surprising how well installation went with the windows. Maybe 45 min with a 15 m brake n the middle. Also received the new panel for the cluster Pop's done a fine job on that. Also installed the two doors after replacing the window regulator on the driver's side. Wanted to comment on GMC Pauls parts..Dash Panel was super nice no issues with the quality at all. Plus the other items arrived in about 3 working days. Even with the holiday in the middle. Also worked some on the bed as you will see in the pics I will post below. Very happy so far how things are going and starting to see some progress which is a good thing. Starting to look more like a truck again..

Re: Project 67
Not to brag or anything but that windshield went in real smoothly, and looks the best out of all of the ones we have installed.

Re: Project 67
2K the passenger bed side. Making a attempt at salvaging a tailgate to see if it will pass as a driver's gate for now.

Re: Project 67
Got a 2nd coat of primer on the bed side. After a couple of days of work finally finished the gate. Surprisingly turned out better than I really expected. No before pics of the gate but I assure you it looked like it had been drug behind the truck rather than inside a truck at some point. Plenty of filler in this one and a couple of dents that is beyond what I can do. It is better than no gate for now until something much better catches my eye.
Waiting on hardware to install the driver's bedside, head board and tub. Then the floor coating to finish the floor. Next is the underside of the bed some needed repairs to supports and primer coat the underside at least maybe even a coat of tractor black before beige get sprayed.

Re: Project 67
Looking great there Sammy.
Really digging the paint scheme now that I can see it as a roller. Very close to the color my friend has on his 1970 C/10 LWB truck.

Re: Project 67
Thanxs Scott. Actually reminds me of the 50th gold color in some ways. Except lighter. Kinda disappointed that someone else has painted a similar color. Wanted something "ODD" or different yet pleasing without being over the top. Without the white cab top it was just too much and very plain looking and I immediately knew that it wasn't going to work for me in a solid color. Likely to put a stripe at or near the belt line down each side front to rear after it is together. Have not decided gray, white, width or if only a single stripe yet though. Everyone that has seen it in person has had good comments. And the pics doesn't do it any justice either.

Re: Project 67
Under bed repairs are finished and about 75% POR-15 also. May even use the coating on the inside of both rear fender tubs.

Re: Project 67
Similar.
..Today I spent a couple of hours {at least it seemed like it} adjusting the doors for gaps and to work like I expected. I don't have the correct length core mount bolts for the core but all is needed is to drop them in the holes. Longest time was taken aligning the grill to bolt it to the fenders. I like all the gaps so far except one (lower passenger side fender}believe it can be shimmed at later time. Firedog already pointed out I may want to paint the inside of the fenders white to match the grill. He may have a good point.

Re: Project 67
Thanxs for the kind comments. Must remember I'm not a body man or a painter. But I will attempt anything a couple of times if need be. Matter of fact today I repainted the R/F fender due to my mistakes. The more I do it I get just a bit better. But I don't have the equipment and have to make do. So plenty of mistakes.
While the fender was drying I added the white to the driver's side and it can be compared now to the other one. Was going to push it out for a side pic but the tire's are touching the inside of the fenders barely. But it will happen. Ohh they fill the fenders up nicely with no air in the bags. Next week it is possible to get the bed situated enough to roll it out for a peek. Once all the body is back on the frame it will get a once over with 300 grit most of the flaws addressed and what I hope will be a final coat of beige to blend the body panels and correct the installation bumps n bruises you concur during reinstalling grills, doors, windows and so forth. Pic of the difference in the white around the headlight. Enjoy!

Re: Project 67
That looks much better with the white painted around the headlight on the fender. Nice work!

Re: Project 67
Got the eye white on the right fender to match the other side. Also the 2nd coat on the right bed side, tail gate and the header panel. Getting short on beige may have enough left to 2nd coat the driver fender or the 1st coat on the final bed driver's bed side this week. 1st coat of Armor All bed coating on the floor. Another pic to enjoy...

Re: Project 67
maybe we should take the fenders off and cut the insides to fit the tires so it will drop even lower, just kidding, looking great hope to catch up with you this week and we can set the bed on.

Re: Project 67
Thanxs to help especially Firedog we got OddBall moved and the bed set, tailgate mounted. Really looked sweet in the sunlight gathering sunshine today. Forecast for thunderstorms tonight so it will be a short breath of fresh air. ID'd the front bumper brackets so that maybe next. Alignment of bed/cab doesn't appear to be a huge issue. Just the left rear corner of the cab may need a shim.
Enjoy.

The front bags required some blocks to turn the wheels with deflated bags.
