What was the deal with your transmission issue? Hopefully, you got through it without killing your wallet.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Thanks for all the kind comments.

I Took the wagon on the Hot rod power tour and did the long haul!! I put 3000 miles on the car in one week! Ran into a great board member crawdadfox and his wife, It was awesome to run into you guys in baton rouge. No major issues during the trip other than a cracked wheel and another bent one.

A little feedback on the unisteer rack kit is don't buy one. It leaks like crazy and seems to be pretty twitchy at higher speeds. I am now getting parts together to put a gearbox back on the car.

I did the tour from Memphis the rest of the way. Saw your car but didn't make the connection. Next time we need to meet up.

We for sure should meet up when we do the tour again. Its very hard to pick out all the different cars and trucks in all the thousands on the tour.

Thanks!! ALso thanks for getting that ac compressor and bracket coming.

New things happening to the wagon. I bought a 1999 z28 as a doner car. I pulled the engine and trans last weekend and have just ordered a cam and 3200 stall convertor and all associated parts. Still need to get more stuff coming. Cant wait, i should have gone ls from the beginning.

Cool direction for your wagon. A friend just went the same route for his 65 Pontiac wagon by buying a decent Firebird for the goodies.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Got the engine and trans out of the camaro. Pulled down to a short block, all new gaskets, TSP 228r cam and all new lifters, pushrods, springs, seals and gaskets etc. Cut off the coil mounts and smoothed valve covers. Painted up everything.

Took the steering rack out and went with all new stuff from CPP a new 500 gearbox that looks like it just barely clears the radiator and all new steering links etc.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Little update, Ran the BP automotive harness through the firewall. Set the engine in for the last time and put on all the accessories. Mounted the coils on the from next to the trans and custom made my own MSD plug wires for it. Keeping everything tidy is the goal.

Thanks for the kind words.

The ac bracket is a kwik performance from vintage air and the ps/alternator bracket is from lsbrackets.com

Great looking wagon!

Would a different oil pan been an option as opposed to modifying the crossmember? Asking because this swap is in the future of my 59.

I love your wagon! Great job. What was the primer you used on the original engine?

From what i have found out you can use some spacers under the engine stands to raise it up enough to clear, but its possible there could be driveline angle issues. I decided to go this route so i can have full adjustability to make my angles correct. Its really pretty easy to slice out the middle of the frame and re weld it.
