Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
pros;
period correct matches chrome factory dealer accessory doesn't affect spid accuracy cons; from a practical aspect, doesn't offer any real protection, mostly for looks not my style personally, I would prefer the flat bar steel grill guard but those are painted white and look better on painted bumper if I had one in that good condition, I would be inclined to install it on a truck to represent the history rather than leave it in a box it does look good on dark blue but it really only matters what Chevyland likes

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Eric...am I reading that pic correctly...the mat is above the shift boot ring on the 1T? As Fremont was known to do.
Love that interior. 70 red GMC Z62. Not a lot of those out there.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
well I'll be dipped - never really paid much attention to it and didn't know it was a factory thing for the mat to cover the the shifter boot ring

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
I don't know to what extent this occurred. JoesJunk first alerted me to it. But anecdotally...I have seen a few original examples (carpet and mat) from Fremont that had the mat above the ring. Eric's truck looks in the pic to be the same. These could be exceptions or they could be the rule...I don't know.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
I was wondering about the mat
My other 4spd c30 was a Fremont truck The original floor mat in it was installed with ring over the mat |

Plus it was black like the first c30 I ever owned The utility box is functional (but not so cool looking) ? My intention was to find a flatbed for it Which I did recently Probably just going to do the swap and drive it as it is 70k original miles |

Curious what the wheel base is on the red flat bed?

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
I'll take one of each please
don't see as many serviceable old utility bodies as flatbeds but they both look great and serve a purpose sure you'll make a good choice that will look great, good luck!

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Man I like that black service truck just the way it is! I’m biased after working out of multiple service trucks for several years. Very very cool stuff. Love that suburban as well! Do you still have the Medium Green super K20?

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Great looking GMC dually. I actually think it looks pretty good with the utility bed. But I also like the flatbed idea too.
