went home today
by going home i went back to the town where i grew up to pick up my truck winch from my older brothers house, and to say a few goodbyes to old friends, though my most important errand was to go back to my old middle school and hunt down my 7th grade history teacher to let him know that he is my motivation behind being a teacher. but while i was back home i noticed an abundance of 67-72 GM trucks, they are everywhere and i counted 12 in the high school parking lot including 2 longhorns and a 3 shortbeds, i was amazed and i also noticed that my brothers neigbor had a killer looking silver 68 short wide in his driveway but he was not home and i did not have a camera on hand. then the rest of the day i spent with my brother before moving, i had a full day but i also wasted alot of time i could have been doing alot of last minute stuff on the truck, so far that is the farthest trip that Frankenstein has been on and he ran like a top, i do tell you though it was nice to be home once more.

It is pretty cool to think these trucks are pretty timeless when it comes to the ages of those who enjoy them. There are alot of young guys and gals around Va that drive them.
My daughter likes the vette, just thinks the truck is old. Moral of the story is I don't have anyone to leave the truck to, the vettes got a home!! |

Yeah, going back to your home town and chasing those memories can be fun. I don't see alot of these trucks where I grew up but most of the spoiled kids have the new stuff.

I graduated from HS last year, and am in college living in a different town now.....a few weeks ago i was home and drove by the HS parking lot.....not a singly 67-72 Chevy
 There was a nice 67-72 Ford in the lot but that was it.....guess i was about the last of the old truck guys at my school.....everyone is driving new stuff

Hmmm.....last time I drove through my High school parking lot 67-72's were out of range of most of us. We couldn't afford almost new trucks.

It's amazing how many of the younger kids in school stop and talk about the older trucks...

In Texas and Oklahoma I noticed that there are plenty of old cars and trucks that are still on the road.I have bought quite a few of them since I have been back here.So now you have the inside lead to a supply of 67-72 trucks.

Still old truck's in my H.S. parking lot ....... This a pretty small town and hot rodding is a big part of it.. Hell we still had a drive in theater that worked till 2 year's ago and a retirement home took it's place..

Hey Virginia,
If you can't find anyone to pass your truck on to.. You always got me! Old is the only thing I like. Yea I just graduated from high school and no 67-72 chevys there. Only thing I see are a bunch of Rice Burners. Just curious what year Corvette do you have? My brother and I restored a '75 C3. Aaron |
