I just bought A.C.!!!!
I just wanted to share my thrill. I just ordered a Vintage Air surefit system for my non A.C. truck. I bought it from a guy here in Houston called Steve's Classic Air Conditioning. He is a great guy and very helpful!! Got me all setup with a new factory A.C. looking controller that is modified to accept cables and mount with the heater control screws via a special bracket. I was completely stoked because my truck has 3 belt pulley on the crank (California truck with smog removed) and the alternator has 2 grooves also. The most exciting thing is my core support already has the hole in it for the A.C. lines to go through. Either the cab was changed at one point to a non A.C. cab, or someone got all the correct stuff to do an A.C. job. Either way, all I have to do is drill out the vents!!! Yeahhh, A.C. is coming!!!

Not at all.
950 for the kit 140 for the A.C controller (optional, its what I wanted) 50 for shipping and handling 50 for him to charge the system, check my work, and put the ends on my hoses after I route them. (You can buy them in preset lengths, but he orders them unfitted so you can route the hoses how you want, then he puts the ends on for you) So total out the door is 1190.00 It could be 1050 if I hadn't asked for the controller and used my original heater controller. He is a really great guy to talk to, and was recommended by board members here. Not only does he sell the vintage A.C. stuff, but he also installs it too, so he is able to answer questions aboutthe install that most dealers can't answer. As a matter of fact, he was working on an 442 when I was there. He didn't rush my questions to get back to work and didn't hurry the sale. He has everything delivered to his shop, so that he can inspect everything before calling you, so you don't get a box and find out you are missing items. (like I would know if I was missing something from a kit) Hope this helps you out!

I like air cond. There was a time when I was young I would remove it from my cars.
My truck is a original a/c and I have all the parts but I think its gonna take some work to get it going. I just got a free 30lb bottle of r12 coolant from my work that was long forgotten in a storage shed. They were gonna toss it.

Congrats!
I had very good experience dealing with Steve, very helpful. He had a 67 Vette and 69 Camaro in the shop when I got my shure fit last year. I love the V.A. a/c! Mike Holler if you have any questions on the install, it went pretty smoothly all in all.
