Got outrun by a F@#%

Not just any F@#% a 1 ton 4 door 4x4 diesel. Beat me by 6 tenths with 3 passengers. I was deffinately impressed. He ran his best time against me(just my luck) a 14.32 @94mph. He sure did embarrass my lil hot rod. : I guess his daddy has alot more money than I do.

The best i've gotten out of her is 14.67 @91 and that was with the stock fuel pump and distributor with the advance stuck. Got the dist rebilt and recurved added the holley fuel pump and put a larger k&n filter on it and it run slower than last year. My best time last night was 14.88@90. On my last run I guess I lost fuel pressure about 300'from the finish line cuz she just fell on her face and i got outrun by a friggin volkswagon.

you compression is too low, that'd be a good start at getting some more power out of it. should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 9.7:1

What kind of lights are you cutting? That time seems to slow for what you've got.

Well, against him not too good. Got a .709. He cut a .566. Anyways my next run was alot better except I lost fuel pressure about 300' from the finish line. I dont get it. When I was just running a stock fuel pump I didnt seem to have this problem but when I run a HP fuel pump I have this problem. Am I supposed to vent the return line since it is not being used with the HP fuel pump?

I wanted to run more like 10:1 but my machinist talked me lower so I could run regular unlead. No gripes about the compression Its around 175psi cranking.

I think the compression is ok. I'm running a 8.5:1 with stock iron, Hecho in Mexico heads and running 14.5's. What is the elevation over there? Are you spinning much off the line?

How about a Diesel F350 Crew 4x4 running 11.42.

If I had to guess I would say that truck is making about 1,100 HP. You just don't throw a 7,100 lb truck down the track at 118 mph without some really big numbers.
