Need vin decode Help
CM159oDZC2605A It doesn't make any sense to me!
GMC maybe?

That is a GMC... they differ from some years to others, and I can not decode that one.
All I can make of it; C = 2 wheel drive. M = V-6 gasoline engine. 15 + 1/2 ton if not mistaken. The rest is greek to me. |

C= Conventional M = V6 1 = 1/2 ton 59 = cab to rear axle dimension 0D = wide side (fleet side Box) Z = Fremont assembly plant C = 1969 rest of it is just sequence number GMCPauls has a good gmc vin decoder page http://gmcpauls.com/67-72_gmc.htm There are some that are odd.. but I usually know those ones as well...A lot depended on where it was built.. some built in Canada have some difference on how to decode them for 1970 and 1971 GMC's. Even this kind are tricky too because Chev and GMC used different numbers to tell cab to axle length... GMC used the number 59 while if it were a Chev the numbers instead of 59 would be 09. And to top it off... 59 or 09 actually mean a lenght of 54 inches...strange eh?

Thats just one of the ways GMC did it Longhorn Man. If you look at the year identifier letter... A means 1967.. B would mean 1968 .. and C would mean 1969.
More typical is just one number for the GVW range... your shows a 20 for the 3/4 status ..but more than not you see just a 2 for a 3/4 ton. If you get books on how ealier vins were decoded in the 60's you'll see even more ways of decoding. I had scanned and posted a couple ways of doing it at one time.. but not sure I even bookmarked it on the boards.
