Goes from LWB to SWB? Any pics and help?
Hey guys,
I never thought I would think about shortening my LWB truck to SWB but I have been giving it some thought these last couple weeks. Anyone have any advice? Also what do I basically have to do? Anyone have any pics? thanks a bunch CHRIS

Funny you should post that, I was just having this conversation with my dad this afternoon as we have extended the cab and wanted to remove the same from the box, but have since decided to move the rear end back the 20". Keep me posted if you decide to shorten and how it worked out.

I liked this method really welll Basically you just remove a 3 inch strip 12 inches long from top of one side and the bottom of the other side and do the oposite on the other side the back is the same just cut it off what i did on mine is i took the peices i cut off the rear and used the left frame rail to mark the right just tured it upside down and traced the hole over it came out perfect holes were even already there for the rear bumper and then just bolt the cab mounts on
One thing i did on mine that i never see in a tech article is i welded a peice of sq tubin acorss the top of the from in front of the cut before its cut out so it doesnt flex any |
