I like mine topless
It is hot as here in S.C., I live in Mrytle Beach and I love to ride around with the top off, but my only problem is the thunderstorms that we seem to get every afternoon. Does any one make a mini top that just covers the back behind the driver and passanger seats, kinda like a cab, but just the back of one. I need something that is quick to throw up and easy to take down. O,yeah I have a 89' K-5. I'm just looking to see if anybody makes one for our trucks. Thanks, I'm really tired of getting caught in the rain

Closest thing is the deal www.specialtytopco.com has. It's like a Bed cover/"Cab Curtain". Somebody had one for sale either here or at CK5.com

Grim, who makes a good soft top for the 73-75 tops? What do they run pricewise?

I know I'm not Grim, but I have a '73 and was lookin for one too, the ones I found were in the $550 -$600 range, that was with or without tinted windows. Also some of the guys on here recomender comtacting tent makers or boat cover makers or something like that to get a custom one made for alot cheaper, one guy said his was like $285 or something like that. (sorry, don't remember who it was or where I saw the thread to lo0ok it up.)

STC and Best top are the only two companies that make tops that I am aware of. THe best stop requires drilling in the bed sides. The STS top has a couple strips to go on the tail gate. Limited sucess in using adheasive tape. Most people will put a truck gate on when they go to a soft top to shed about 100lb. and get the outside handle to open.
Here is a review on the STC Fast track tops. http://www.coloradok5.com/stcreview.shtml

I am not sure what to do. I like the top, but $650 is kind of hard to swallow for something you are not going to use much. I like the top, but not really wild about the rails that are permanently attached. I like the idea of snaps even less. I plan on throwing down on the paint, and the rails kind of get in the way of that. If it was a 4x4, there would not be a problem. My top has a few good cracks in it, but nothing that won't fix. I am sort of up in the air about how nice to do the interior, too. It's sooooooo easy to put a bunch of money in a truck.
