Found a 500 horse inline 8 for my truck

Yep I found a 500 horse 8 cylinder for my truck yesterday. That is also 500 horsepower at 800 RPM. Yes 800 RPM. I actually turned the gas on for it, Natural gas. It is a well pump for a farm field that I was working at, it can deliver about 40 acre feet of water per hour, from a well that is about 1000 feet deep. The only problem with putting it in my truck is that it is about 8 feet tall and about 12 feet long. It is a White diesel engine that is converted to run on natural gas. Man that was fun! Think of the burn outs you could do with that
If anyone can think of a way to overcome the height issue let me know, I know where I can get one cheap.

Talking

if you put engine in back & make it front wheel drive that should work. I better stop this reply before Josh makes me take a drug test.

500 hp and probably a whole lot of torque. We use a lot of converted diesels for aux. power units. They actually make a lot less power on natural gas as compared to diesel.

Speaking of size.....I used to work on pipeline reciprocating integral compressers (built with both power pistons and compresser pistons in the frame) that were powered by the natural gas in the pipeline. These behometh's were 2 stroke twin turbo V-16's with an additional 8 compresser cylinders (24 in all). They made close to 4000 hp (and god know how much torque) at 300 rpm. The crank bearings were 19 inches in diameter! I hated working on them though. Everything was heavy (I'm talking just the tools) hot and noisy. I used to climb into the cylinders to measure the bores. There were five in the building and 4 were always running when we did maintenance.

Hey, a buddy of mine built a go-cart from an 18 horsepower water pump engine. His dad followed him down the street in a mini van at 60mph.
